Not sure if this is old news or new but good interview anyway.

Re: Choate interviewed by Scott Mansch
Happy New Year Cat fans! So In the article they talk about the coaching staff.
"Q: Will your coaching staff be coming back intact?
A: Everybody’s here right now."
For those who have a good historical perspective. What's the likely hood that we keep this coaching staff together? It seems obvious to me that Choate would like to keep them together. Because we were 5-6 it doesn't seem like they would be highly sought after. I guess I think there good enough that the year of stability would be good for the program. There was the most frustration with the OC but I think he will be better with a year at this level under his belt. Am I too optimistic to think our staff is good enough to get us in the playoffs next year and that they will stick around one more year?

I think you're right, and hope that it won't mean too much turnover with our coaching staff. But the addition of a 10th assistant at the FBS level will shake things up throughout the upper levels of football....not sure what it will mean yet.Long Time Cat wrote:Happy New Year Cat fans! Re: Choate interviewed by Scott Mansch
It's unlikely that we'll keep the entire staff. When was the last time that happened? Seems like there's always at least 1 or 2 changes.
My hope is that we keep both coordinators for another year. The OC is unlikely to change... but if Gregorak gets an FBS offer, or FCS head coaching opportunity, he'll be gone.

How long has Pitre been at MSU? I really like the guy and think he does a great job. I wonder if he gets any sniffs from FBS schools.

Gotta admit I'm really looking forward to next season. Seems all the ingredients are there for a great season. And with Hoax back in Missoula, Cat/Griz is going to be amped up even more...I think it will be a dog fight.
Go Cats!!

I thought his comments on the E Washington game were interesting. I wonder if someone should let Coach know that last season was Herbert’s senior season?

Last season was Coach Pitre’s fourth. I agree that he is a good one.

That was worded oddly, but I believe he was agreeing with Scott, who only mentioned Mahoney and Bignell in the question, that the team will have to deal with some tough losses to graduation which includes Mitch.imacat wrote:I thought his comments on the E Washington game were interesting. Jonathan Smith hasn't added a Running Backs coach to his staff yet at Oregon State. Michael would be a fit.imacat wrote:wbtfg wrote:How long has Pitre been at MSU? I really like the guy and think he does a great job. I wonder if he gets any sniffs from FBS schools.

I know in the long run it is inevitable and coach Pitre is worthy but I'm not ready for that so please no, the state of Oregon should not take another one of our gems.
