Town Pump Becomes Exclusive Brawl of the Wild Sponsor

Beginning this fall, Town Pump Food Stores will be the exclusive partner to the popular "Brawl of the Wild" Cat/Griz in-state rivalry as announced today by Learfield, athletics multimedia rightsholder to both Montana State University and University of Montana.

Town Pump, which has been involved with Brawl of the Wild since its inception in 2013, escalates its overall engagement during football and men's and women's basketball seasons on both campus communities for the next three years. Learfield's Grizzly Sports Properties and Bobcat Sports Properties teams work alongside the respective athletic administrators and manage the corporate partner platforms.

It'll sound really good when we hear this, "For the 2nd straight year the Montana State Bobcats are the Brawl of the Wild Victors. Lets go down to the field as they hoist the 'Town Pump Food Stores' Divide Trophy". Sounds so sweet, then so terrible hopefully they don't call the trophy anything like that.

What's the origin story of the "Brawl of the Wild" name? It was always Cat-griz growing up and when I was in school then all the sudden they started saying Brawl of the Wild. I've never liked it. I know we have the annual competition across all the team sports now as well but we didn't need a new name for that either. Just smells like a sponsorship grab to me.

I don't necessarily like the brawl of the wild either but if it does mean more money as far as sponsorships I'm all for it. As far as I'm concerned the practice jerseys' of our players should be like nascar cars, if it means the football program gets more money. I believe the 76ers next year will be wearing jersey's during the games with sponsorship logos on them, it might look like ******, but hey its more money.

I think 8 teams in the NBA have signed on now. In this day and age it's all about the green. If Town Pump helps us get upgrades, then by all means put signs everywhere.
