Brian Wright was the Bobcat OC that season. It was his first at MSU and I believe he did an exceptional job overall. The Cougars blamed the close game on the overall Cougar youth. But the Bobcats were even younger.
Wright is now the OC at Toledo.

Tough to be critical about play calls most of the game.

I don't want to be to pessimistic but I hope we score at least 3 tds and they score less than 7. I'll be at the game and a close one would be fun.

How many pass plays will the Cougars run?
https://washingtonstate.forums.rivals.c ... ome.12695/
"[for-those-hoping-for-some]...balance in offensive play selection, here's a stat for you from the recent scrimmage: 71 passing attempts v. 12 rushing attempts."
In any case, Bobcat pass defense will be tested immediately.
I just can't predict against the Bobcats so my prediction is Bobcats 30 Cougars 27
3 touchdowns each side and 3 field goals for the good guys and 2 for the Cougs. Cougs will attempt 52 pass plays.

kittens 10
Cougs 54
Griz 14
Dogs 61
Neither team looks good...
Cat fans say Griz were pathetic
Griz fans say kittens were pathetic
Both will be right.

I laughed ..
I think both games will be closer than you have picked. Don't get me wrong, neither will look too great I don't think but I don't see UW scoring 61, don't see the cougs scoring 54, and gosh I hope we score more than 10
Cats: 20's
Cougs: High 30's low 40's
Griz: 17
UW: 41

Griz have some beasts on both lines and your linebackers are probably better than Tripp or Coyle were when they were playing. The kid who screwed up and picked up a DUI is going to be a blessing for you. Jesse Sims is a freak of nature, I mean the kid anchored his high school 4 x 400 relay and he's the strongest kid on the defensive line. Probably wins the Buchanan if he stays healthy.
Cats are way too young and small this year. I wish it could be something like 27-24 but I look for the a real behind the shed whipping. The Pirate and his quarterback have one more year of experience and the kid is going to putting up unbelievable numbers this year. I might go over but if I do I'll probably just go fishing on second thought

Just for kicks using Sagarin ratings...
Washington 89.7
Griz 51.53
Difference 38.2
Dogs get 3 for home team
So Dogs win by 41
Cougs 80.15
Cats 47.03
Difference 33
Cougs get 3 for home team
Cougars win by 36

We are to young for this game. With that said, I think we will play well, just not enough fire power to take a good WSU team 41-24 WSU.

And Yahoo Sports has the Cougs at #24 in the preseason picks. Earlier they were saying Falk is a possible first round pick so this will be a very strong test. Wish we could be there but will be on our deck watching FS1...
THE BOBCATS......26
Cougs....................43
And the other game:
Huskies..........52

Cats 35 Cougs 31
I know that isn't looking at the situation very realistically but I don't care, that's the score I want so I might as well say it.
We will have 7 in our group on about the 45 yd line yelling our heads off. Go CATS!!
UW 52 UM 17

I know it is probably apples and oranges but with Portland States showing this has to give us a boost in confidence. byu is ranked 25 so I would like to say that is a light at the end of the tunnel albeit a dim light...
