Re: Loud noise from MT
Per twitter, our only known Montana offers are Drew Turner and Lane Sumner. Both running backs. Obviously, would be very excited if it was Turner but if its Sumner, everyone should understand how solid this kid is as a running back.

Re: Loud noise from MT
Would love to have Drew Turner, fits our scheme...
Lane Sumner seems like an explosive athlete - highlights reminded me a little of Gabe Sulser (who no doubt is the best athlete in this class)
Another guy who I would love to have is Karson Wheat, not sure if we have offered but really like his film.

Karson Wheat liked the tweet ......so maybe it's him. Would be a good get for us.

Could be, but it doesn't look like we've offered him. He has a pinned tweet of an offer from tech. He does retweet a ton of msu stuff, and I know him to be a big msu fan. If we offer, I think commit in a heartbeat.HelenaCat95 wrote:Karson Wheat liked the tweet ......so maybe it's him. Would be a good get for us.

We've lost our edge guys ... or these kids don't write their commitments on twitter like they are supposed to do

Or they like to keep it quiet and wait until they want to release it on social media. Or its just a kid who doesn't have social media. The news will eventually break so I'm just glad we got another Montana player.Bozcat003 wrote:We've lost our edge guys ... or these kids don't write their commitments on twitter like they are supposed to do

Same. Seems like the MT kids are committing earlier this year than years past. With 12 verbals in this class (10 known; 2 unknown) I gotta think this is the largest class we've had this early ever, interested in how many this class ends up withVimSince03 wrote:Or they like to keep it quiet and wait until they want to release it on social media. Choate feels that if you wait until December and January there is no time to visit and check out signees, so he's hoping for signings on Dec 21 if they are truly committed...the rest of them hopefully on signing day...

Good get for the cats. Doesn't have great size for an FCS running back, but can carry the load for an offense like Choates. One thing I did see when watching his film was his leg strength. Isn't going to juke you out of your shoes, but can surely overpower you when trying to take him down. Has low center of gravity and uses his leg strength to keep the pile moving.

I thought the same thing re:Sulser comparison. Good, quick feet. Fast. So hard to say how guys like Sumner and Estes would perform on a good AA team.Bozcat003 wrote:Would love to have Drew Turner, fits our scheme...

Re: Loud noise from MT
Lane doesn't have to be an every-down back at the FCS. Lane has an incredibly strong lower body. He lifts religiously. I like that the Bobcats saw his talent this early in the process because he was dinged up his junior year (even though he put up full season numbers).HowardRoss280 wrote:Good get for the cats.
