Do we have enough depth at running back? Good potential in Beasly it sounds like and with Choate's connection to Boise State maybe we can get this guy.
One of the Boise State football team's most promising young talents is headed elsewhere.

Really surprised there hasn't been any comments on Beltran's try-out.

And oh yeah.....and we could use another quarterback and convert him to halfback...
Satisfied?

I guess we'll see, he does seem like a Murray clone.

He's certainly not affraid to turn and fire on a slant route. That's one of the hardest passes to throw in a tight window. Will be interesting to see what happens with him. Would be yet another player on the team that played QB at one point or another.luckyirishguy25 wrote:https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4905968/5a ... 12689d5a8aMontanabob wrote:Um, yeah..... 17 May....Hawks86 wrote:Really surprised there hasn't been any comments on Beltran's try-out.

His numbers are very efficient. They don’t throw much, but his career QB rating is 174. High percentage, high yardage per attempt, good td:int ratio. Built like Murray, but passing numbers like McGhee. Qb’d his team to the Arizona 5A title. Two-year starter.

Why the lack of offers? No FCS offers out of high school. Only NAIA and Division II programs.iaafan wrote:His numbers are very efficient. They don’t throw much, but his career QB rating is 174. How’s he look on video? Any big flaws that would scare you off?VimSince03 wrote:Why the lack of offers? No FCS offers out of high school. Re: 2018 MSU Recruiting (31 Signees)
If they are recruiting him as a QB, there will be growing pains similar to Chris Murray. When he can get in rhythm in an up-tempo environment, the kid looks like a D1 recruit. But we all know that isn't the reality of college football as games go up and down. There will also be positives (speed) similar to Chris. I don't know...this seems like an "athlete" recruit to me. This kid's situation may be similar to Willie Patterson: star QB of his high school team but never got the big offers at QB. MSU came in late with an offer to Willie as an athlete and he took it.TomCat88 wrote:How’s he look on video? Any big flaws that would scare you off?VimSince03 wrote:Why the lack of offers? Maybe he hasn’t signed anywhere because he’s holding out for a QB spot?

Re: 2018 MSU Recruiting (31 Signees)
Strong possibility. Willie Patterson could've done the same...but he would have likely only received nothing higher than Division II offers to play QB. Anyway, this is why I don't see why we would give this kid a scholarship if we are recruiting him at QB. The market is obviously not hot on him for QB services so why not just offer a PWO? If MSU offers a partial due to his athletic upside at WR, then I'm in.iaafan wrote:Maybe he hasn’t signed anywhere because he’s holding out for a QB spot?

I still think halfback.VimSince03 wrote:Strong possibility. Willie Patterson could've done the same...but he would have likely only received nothing higher than Division II offers to play QB. And anyone in the backfield on the 2 deep chart can throw a pass.

Where did you find that QB rating? This shows his rating as a senior is 126.2.iaafan wrote:His numbers are very efficient. They don’t throw much, but his career QB rating is 174. I do agree that if we were to offer him a partial or PWO with an agreement to give him an honest shot at QB he'd be a great addition. Not sure what an "honest shot" at QB is, maybe 2 years?

Max preps uses the nfl system for some reason. I converted it to college system.
