I know we have some big dudes coming in this year, plus we got the verbal from that Missoula kid so that might affect things too.Grizaddict wrote:I stand corrected and it sounds like you were right. Quick in his own words said he wasn't offered anything from MSU. Read the gazette article for his quote.Grizaddict wrote:not sure how true that is. There were two Falls Downs on the 1981 Plenty Coups state championship team. I don't think Danny was one though.
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

It was an AA school. A team that played CMR. I'm thinking 93 or 94. And I may have the first name wrong.

Got some free time today and decided to watch some film. So now that I have my top 50 done and that will be posted before the first games, I thought I would watch some film on kids that are outside of the top 50. I have a number of kids already, but please feel free to throw some names out there that you think should be receiving some recognition!

The Griz have been hosting high school football games at Washington Grizzly for a few years now. Bobcats finally follow suit. A great recruiting tool and experience for the kids.

What do we think the commitment of Sherod White means for the prospect of getting Drew Turner?

Two different players. Should have no effect. White is a shifty speed back. Drew is a bigger, between-the-tackles back.blueandgoldblitz wrote:What do we think the commitment of Sherod White means for the prospect of getting Drew Turner?

Re: Montana Recruits 2018
I know the Bobcat faithful probably wanted to see us land a kid like Drew Turner, Gabe Sulser, or Garrett Graves but the best recruit we do have right now is Nolan Askelson. The Billings Senior captain has moved to QB while still taking over some RB duties when called upon. He also is the starting MLB on defense and flys around everywhere. His play has made the Senior offense look like it hasn't missed a beat.

I'm happy with the Montana kids the Cats have recruited. I think Sulser would have been an awesome get though. In fact, I think Sulser is the only Montana recruit that is ahead of his peers in overall talent.

Re: Montana Recruits 2018
We got the high placed kids in the state last year, so I guess its the Griz's turn this year...I think I would rather have Troy Anderson than Gabe Sulser. ..... besides we have really upgraded our out-of-state recruiting under this staff. All in all...we will always recruit Montana kids to be Bobcats...and our needs should dictate the number of them.

Are these ratings based on how you think they'll do in college or on how well they play in high school.

Re: Montana Recruits 2018
Mix of both. Obviously, there are scenarios where there are 1st-Team All-State offensive lineman in AA that are 5'11", 210 lbs. that simply don't project in college. Basically, when I rate players near the top (Top 20), I believe they have a legitimate shot to develop into good college football players, likely at the FCS level.grizgirl wrote:Are these ratings based on how you think they'll do in college or on how well they play in high school.
