sounds pretty accurate to me. I'd would say that historically, 9 players every year out of Montana (locks or solids) might even be on the high side.grizgirl wrote:You only have nine players as locks and solids?TomCat88 wrote:Solids:

The tweeners:
Germer
Pepe
Allred
Kleinhans
Koppang
Wheat
Shuman
McElroy
Suero
Jenks
A couple of these will probably outdo a couple of the locks and solids.

Reminder: as I said earlier my list is based on talking to multiple Frontier and BSC coaches. I haven’t seen any of these players in action and have only watched a couple on hudl vids.TomCat88 wrote:The tweeners:

Re: Montana Recruits 2018
I agree with the base of all these, I personally would swap some kids and add some others. I just think it’s hard to put kids into these types of list because of the levels they are going to be playing in college. The locks are three kids at FCS, but I personally can see a kid like Wheat making a immediate impact at NAIA. And Jenks at D2. Shuman is now a D1 athlete at WSU, so yes he won’t make an immediate impact or get playing time his first year most likely, but if he was at NAIA or FCS, I’d say he would be a lock or solid. See what I’m saying?TomCat88 wrote:Reminder: as I said earlier my list is based on talking to multiple Frontier and BSC coaches. Just curious if anyone else thinks that this may be a recruit that we are possibly sleeping on? Looks like a solid instate kid that we can bring in and develop for awhile under the current upper-class kicking group to possibly become a star some day...?

Re: Montana Recruits 2018
The Montana players probably get combed over and analyzed as much as any players in the country. The NAIA ranks are strong here and now extend into other states. The FCS is well represented and FBS teams dabble as well. Paul Petrino recently made note of the fact that Montana is a great football state with good athletes in a 406(?) article. As long as he’s at Idaho there will be three BSC teams hitting the State hard.

Help me out here. I count 2 BSC teams that have anything to do with MT. The ONLY thing ID has to do with MT is Petrino.TomCat88 wrote:The Montana players probably get combed over and analyzed as much as any players in the country. While everybody has an opinion, I am suspect of your speculation of college recruits without you seeing them play live and/or not watching all players Hudl.

I don’t speculate on Montana recruits. I merely pass along information about Montana recruits from past and current coaches that do watch/follow them.

Echols has already visited. But I think we will get Metcalf as that next bigger receiver to develop in the system.iaafan wrote:I predict that Echols and Metcalf commit after their visits.

Big get for Rocky! Bruce had PWO interest as a defensive lineman from MSU.

This is Dawson Hoerauf (6'3", 265 lbs.) from Whitehall, MT. Had interest from MSU as a walk-on. Good get for Minot State who landed a solid Montana player (RB Hayden Van Winkle) in last year's class.

I know Minot St is also after Cal Holgate out of Manhattan. That would be a good pick up for them in my opinion as well. He was 2 time all state and put up over 1000 yards receiving as a junior and again as a senior. Add in his runs and kick and punt returns and his all purpose yards got to be way up there.VimSince03 wrote:https://twitter.com/CoachKoziol/status/954861032610123777 This is Dawson Hoerauf (6'3", 265 lbs.) from Whitehall, MT. Has he always played at Manhatten or did he play in belgrade at all?Grizaddict wrote:I know Minot St is also after Cal Holgate out of Manhattan. Yep was at Belgrade for a couple years. I want to say he played quite a bit as a sophomore and was their return man. Moved into Manhattan as a junior and dominated. Was often double covered and game planned for and still got his numbers. Fast and physical kid. I want to say he's only about 5'8 or 5'9 or he'd be getting more attention in my opinion.lutecat wrote:Has he always played at Manhatten or did he play in belgrade at all?Grizaddict wrote:I know Minot St is also after Cal Holgate out of Manhattan. Had PWO interest from MSU. A 6'2", 210 lb. kid who is good against the run and can make plays sideline to sideline. He's also an exceptional basketball player. Had a shoulder injury that made him miss most of his senior season. He should have plenty of upside at linebacker or even possibly TE on offense in my opinion.

First FCS team to offer Seth as far as I can see. Assuming he commits to Idaho if UM or MSU doesn’t offer. Seth is the type of player who you don’t want going to a school who you will be playing every year.

Will be interesting to see what the offer is. But really, I don't think either MSU or UM have offered anything. I actually hope this works out for Seth so he gets to play for a FCS school and test his talent.HowardRoss280 wrote:https://twitter.com/sethschneider34/status/956967846432550913 First FCS team to offer Seth as far as I can see.
