Bryant (FCS – RI): Head coach Marty Fine has submitted his resignation and will look to pursue other opportunities. Fine took over the program in 2004 and helped transition the program from Division II to FCS and posted an overall record of 53-27. Fine and Bryant University finished this season 5-6 overall and 4-2 in conference play.
I actually liked this guy -- his pre-game presser in Bozeman was refreshing.
HC experience. OC experience. Choate's kind of guy.

Great attitude and character... Or it sure seems like it on the surface.JDoub wrote:Bryant (FCS – RI): Head coach Marty Fine has submitted his resignation and will look to pursue other opportunities. Re: Bryant Coach fired
He is a solid guy and good coach and did an excellent job in building the Bryant program. I know him personally and he was not fired. He just felt it was time to move on. He is a first class guy.

I'm surprised, I thought he was a great coach. He did a fine job against us, a long way from home.

MITHFIELD, R.I. – Director of Athletics Bill Smith accepted the resignation of Bryant University head football coach Marty Fine Wednesday, as he looks to pursue other opportunities
"I want to thank Marty Fine for his years of dedication to the program and for helping our young student-athletes develop as strong citizens and leaders of character," said Smith. "We wish him the best as he pursues new opportunities."
I thoroughly enjoyed his interviews as well.
If you missed them, here is prior to MSU trip. (starts at 13:57)

Re: Bryant Coach fired
Fixed the title - I had assumed he was asked to resign. Not many HC's resign voluntarily 'and will pursue other opportunities ' without announcing he has taken another coaching job.bobcatbob wrote:He is a solid guy and good coach and did an excellent job in building the Bryant program.
