End of Beau Baldwin?
Oregon just gave Helfrich the heave ho and IMHO i think he should be on the short list. Could be way off here but he's been terrorizing the Pac 12 for years at a lessor program.

Not crazy but I'll bet they will look at established FBS coaches 1st, then NFL coaches (Chip Kelly) then give Beau a look. PJ Fleck from Western Michigan is going to be a hot commodity and Charlie Strong will get a look too I'm sure. Unfortunately for us I don't think Beau is going anywhere.Prodigal Cat wrote:Oregon just gave Helfrich the heave ho and IMHO i think he should be on the short list. Not to start an argument but I will say DP was not the problem there in Oregon or here for that matter. Both coaching staffs were presiding over programs in decline. Quarterback play was the least of Oregons problem from what I saw with Herbert or Prukop behind center.PHAT CAT wrote:Dakota has helped his last two head coaches get sh-t canned. Re: End of Beau Baldwin?
Baldwin's biggest feather is his performance vs. PAC 12 teams, but I have a hard time thinking that will be enough. Oregon can get just about anyone. With teams like Michigan, OSU, LSU, Texas making big moves in the not too distant past I don't see Oregon dipping all the way down into the FCS ranks to get a coach. I'd be surprised if they don't go NFL (Chip Kelly) or plunder some other Power 5 team (Bobby Petrino is always available ). You never know though.

I was thinking the same thing, DP played as good as he could, he had 4 freshman OL. I really feel there season would have ended the same regardless who is under center. I can only imagine this season might have hurt DP draft stock, but a good NFL team can see past that. Still wish he stayed here.LIBBYCAT wrote:Not to start an argument but I will say DP was not the problem there in Oregon or here for that matter. I highly doubt he has any draft stock...FTG247365 wrote:I was thinking the same thing, DP played as good as he could, he had 4 freshman OL. Re: End of Beau Baldwin?
I'm not being a jerk at all to DP but he has NO draft stock. He might have got a FA tryout if he had stayed and had a huge season at MSU, but getting benched for a Freshman or Sophomore (whatever the dude is) isn't a resume builder. I will be completely shocked if he gets a FA signing or tryout.FTG247365 wrote:I was thinking the same thing, DP played as good as he could, he had 4 freshman OL. Agreed.....He was benched in favor of True Freshman, Justin Herbert.BigBruceBaker wrote:I'm not being a jerk at all to DP but he has NO draft stock. Dakota won't get an NFL look, but he could potentially be a very good QB in canada. I wish him all the best.
