You left the 3rd team and honorable mention players from MSU off your list. Or weren't there any?

Indeed, pasted in the second to last version on accident, thanks for letting me know. Three Montana State players in fact made honorable mention all conference:

Honorable mention All-Big Sky

Joey Michael, special teams, senior

Zach Wright, defensive tackle, sophomore

John Walker, cornerback, senior

I guess you can call it an upset due to the records (MSU 3-7, UM 6-4) coming into the game, but I didn't think it was. UM probably showed too much in their wins over MVSU and SAC or they just weren't that good. They came into the game losers in 3 of 4 games and they didn't look too good in the one win. I thought what was memorable was the way MSU won, which was by running on nearly every down and playing good defense. I wasn't surprised with the defense, but the ability to run like was truly memorable.

The griz were 16 point favorites, and had played well all year at home. The Cats hadn't won a single road game all year, including at Sac State, and had just 1 conference win.
It was a pretty big upset.

Agreed. I said all week in various radio appearances and on our podcast that I thought Montana would pack the box with nine and Montana State's one-dimensional offense would have a tough time moving the ball or scoring. Instead, the Bobcats ran it right down the Grizzlies' throats. Truly memorable, indeed.

Experienced some technical difficulties so a little late on this but here is Courtney Messingham's post-season press conference on November 21, 2016.

Apologies for that unintentional cut. For whatever reason, our high definition camera will record for 11 minutes, 59 seconds and then it stops recording. So if you aren't watching the seconds count down, you lose a few seconds when you stop and restart to make a new clip. Here is the full quote about Mac BIgnell and Bryson McCabe from Ty Gregorak:

“Mac Bignell, I look at him as one of the best, better outside linebackers in this league,” Gregorak said. “I know that stuff will come out the next few days. Mac needs to take some steps. Like I was talking about at Cat Chat the other night, you look at Bryson McCabe and Mac Bignell and I think they are two very good football players in the Big Sky Conference. If you take out a missed tackle here, a missed opportunity there, they will be great players in this league, not just good but great. We all have to take the next step.”
