updated from the ND game...

frustrating loss to say the least.

-Newell moved up some lists.
-Kassis is a stud and will make some of these lists at some point in his career! impressed with that guy.

Jessie Clark threatening to crack the top ten all time without starting. We really need to play him more.

Mac Bignell also had at least 3 TFL yesterday.

I was gonna put up the TFL list when bignell hits about 30... He is at about 26 right now-

Question- can anyone confirm if he had any TFL in 2014? (I know in 2015 he had 20.5, which is crazy).

He did get playing time and he did get statistics recorded, but it does not appear he had any TFL. I checked the conference's stats archive.

mslacatfan wrote:"so your telling me there's a chance".....

Does Newell have an outside shot at reaching Kirks career rushing TD mark this year?.... It would take a MONSTER season of 26 rushing touchdowns (which would also give him a shot at the payton award, and break like every bobcat record).

Considering that he will be getting every goal line situation (Dakota had like 10 rushing TD's himself last year), and they will be more of a run-oriented team driven by Newell..... Also, there is always the chance for a playoff run, giving you more games to add to the total.

Obviously it is pretty unlikely to happen... but not impossible.
Haha... Not if Messingham calls 3 straight pass plays from inside the 8yrd line.... Haha

updated with Sac state....

](*,) I never enjoy updating this after a loss, especially a terrible loss like that one, but...

-Newell needs 2 more rushing TD's to tie Don Hass for 2nd all time, impressive!

-couple more lists got added/updated.

-Chris Murray might break some rushing records himself, if he keeps it up! Guy is fun to watch.

Mslacatfan - Is there any way you could expand the single game rushing yards by a QB into a top ten list? I would be very curious to see that. And I believe Murray will add to it this weekend...

I would be curious as well. That is a question for someone in the athletic department? The only reason I got those Top 2, is because it was mentioned in an article.

Any help out there? Tomcat?

updated with NAU...........

again, I'm never overly excited to update this after a loss.... but here it is.

It will be cool to see Newell hopefully pass don hass in rushing touchdowns, he is also just outside the career top 10 for rushing yards now and will get it next game.

With soooooooo many freshman and sophomores playing, I'm sure there will be all kinds of lists to track/record breaking a couple years from now.

saw this article on the athletics website:

http://msubobcats.com/news/2016/10/9/bo ... lists.aspx

pretty sure the stats/info they are posting about newell are not accurate- They say he is now 10th all time rushing list (he is 11th right now), and 29 rushing touchdowns (not accurate).

Not sure who is the contact for this? Of if anyone on the website even cares......... but yeah, pretty sure that is wrong.

Tomcat? don't you have some kind of connection to this stuff?

I looked into the touchdown issue and I think you just missed a word in there. Here it is, from the link you posted:
fourth in rushing touchdowns (26, one from third), and tied for second in total touchdowns (29, tied with the Iron Tumbleweed Don Hass, 20 from Cody Kirk's school record).
You are correct that Chad Newell has 26 rushing touchdowns. But according to the article, he has 29 TOTAL touchdowns. I don't know where to find the numbers, but I'm sure if you know where to look, you could find that Chad probably has 3 receiving touchdowns somewhere.

I agree with you on the rushing yards. I have no idea where they're getting that number from.

Thanks for your time. You were right earlier. Not as much fun when we are not winning.
Some guys will certainly move up the charts.

Here's to the underdog this weekend! =D^
