crazy how many of these guys can really move up on their lists, both this season and for their career. I guess the high powered offense helped them out in that way.

"so your telling me there's a chance".....

Does Newell have an outside shot at reaching Kirks career rushing TD mark this year?.... It would take a MONSTER season of 26 rushing touchdowns (which would also give him a shot at the payton award, and break like every bobcat record).

Considering that he will be getting every goal line situation (Dakota had like 10 rushing TD's himself last year), and they will be more of a run-oriented team driven by Newell..... Also, there is always the chance for a playoff run, giving you more games to add to the total.

Obviously it is pretty unlikely to happen... but not impossible.

Didn't Mac have a huge year last year for TFL? Is that a category that is tracked?

Already looked at it- Mac is in the low 20's for TFL's (which is very impressive for someone going into his junior year). If he has a year like last year, he will be getting close. Top 10 list for Career TFL starts at 43... If he gets close to that list toward the end of the season I will definitely add it.

Career TFL Top 10 is really impressive!

Wow--ya that is an impressive list. If he stays healthy he'll most certainly crack the top 10 by the time he's done. Talk about a who's who of Bobcat defensive players.

That's a lot of potential records. I think Newell is a lock for number 6 on the rushing yards list with an outside shot to get to number 5. He will almost definitely be number 2 on the career rushing TD's list. And Herbert has a chance to be number one in receiving touchdowns in a career with a year to go.

updated with Idaho game-

I always hate updating this thing after a loss..... but, overall I think there are way more positives to take away from that game than negatives. Should be an entertaining season, I get the feeling this team will only improve as the season goes on-

updated from Bryant- not a whole lot of changes other than Herbert moving up a spot on the career receiving TD's list. (side note- but just throw the guy the damn ball, he catches everything)

I'm yelling this all game every game. He should be averaging 10 targets a game. So underutilized...

Could the coaches be holding back some things for conference play?

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

If Hebert stays healthy he has a shot at "Touchdown" Kelly Davis' 40 year old career touchdown reception record.
Career TFL....Cory Widmer is the only defender who played an inside down lineman position, everyone else being DE's or linebackers. Cory is #1 and it's not even close. How impressive is that?? He then moved on to the New York Giants where he started several seasons as their middle linebacker.

Herbert could be there by seasons end if he's targeted as much as he should be. I think Herbert could end up with 25-30 easy.

updated with Western Oregon:

-Great win, just what the cats needed to get some confidence and momentum heading into conference play.

-Herbert moved up the TD list

-Walker- If he keeps up this pace I will be putting up the INT list (for a season) pretty soon.
