Re: Starters?
I think one of the macarthy twins needs to be starting at OLB opposite Bignell. I get the two mixed up, but the one guy has been making as many plays as anyone in fall camp.

Re: Starters?
I haven't heard much on Paige. Seems like maybe Kassis is turning heads. Any chance he starts? Or Gates.

Re: Starters?
He's fine and played in the last scrimmage. How's Weyer's injury?RAshJudgement wrote:Isn't Flynn out with a bum ankle?

Re: Starters?
Padmos is the starting punter. His show came apart in the scrimmage.

Re: Starters?
You mean his "shoe." Yeah, I heard that the bottom of his shoe had separated from the top. Also heard he had a slightly sprained ankle that day. Probably explains why he wasn't punting as well as usual.

Re: Starters?
I've heard Hale has come on, but I didn't hear much about him from the last scrimmage. I don't even know if he plays boundary or field, so he could be Walker's backup. If he had gotten mention in the last scrimmage, I'd say he might be the other corner. I'm most inclined to say it's Strong, but Alley had a really good off-season and Washington was possibly the most productive in camp. Tough call. I don't know which of those guys are field or boundary either.

Re: Starters?
How has the pass rush been in camp/scrimmages so far? There isn't a lot being talked about it in posts/articles I have been reading.

Re: Starters?
Pass rush is one of the hardest things to gauge in scrimmages. Based on who's back from last year, we should have a decent pass rush. Clark is a terror on passing downs. LaBoy can get there and I assume Collins can also. Even if the pass rush looks good in scrimmage it's hard to say, because the QB is whistled down without being tackled. QBs that are stationary get "sacked" a lot in scrimmages. Then you have to factor in how good the OL is. So you may look good in a scrimmage, but when you play a different team it's a different story.

Thanks. I guess we will see when the bullets start flying on Sept. 1!iaafan wrote:Pass rush is one of the hardest things to gauge in scrimmages. Re: Starters?
I am still back and forth on the CB position. I like Strong but I can't see him holding off Hale the whole year. I think the 2 transfers start and give the other 2 a chance on nickel downs. I guess we will see what Choate and Gregorak have in store for us soon enough.

I'm not around to see the scrimmages, but I agree with this. Hale got serious reps in the PAC 12....he must have an extra gear.Cat4LifeHouseDivided wrote:I am still back and forth on the CB position. Starters?
I think Hale could crack into a starting spot down the road this season, but this thread was specifically a lot who will start at Idaho, and from everything I've read the staff doesn't think he's ready from a conditioning standpoint.
