Skyline Sports summer podcast series

Post by Colter_Nuanez » Tue Jun 21, 2016 10:16 pm

To help ease the football fever of the summer, we are putting together a Big Sky Breakdown podcast series that will include a daily episode covering Big Sky Conference football. This installment — an episode breaking down Skyline Sports' selections for the preseason All-Big Sky team — will kick off the series. We will have episodes featuring 30-minute interviews with all 13 head coaches from across the league, episodes featuring at least 10 beat writers from around the Big Sky breaking down the overall state of athletics for the specific schools they cover, a podcast with our preseason poll and the influential games that will determine the league race and much more.

This podcast, the coaches' portion of this series and all our content that will be produced from the Big Sky Kickoff in Park City in July will be brought to you by our presenting sponsor, the Rockin' R Bar in Bozeman. Go check out the R Bar's dunk tank fundraiser event from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday night. The evening will feature a chance to dunk MSU football coaches Kane Ioane, Matt Miller and Michael Pitre along with players J.P. Flynn, Gunnar Brekke, Matt Brownlow and Tyler Bruggman. More than $1,000 in prizes are available and the R Bar will make a donation to Special Olympics Montana. Excited to work with and be associated with the guys at R Bar.

I will post each of our summer series here. We will also produce print stories previewing all 13 Big Sky football teams that will be printed in July in the two weeks leading up to fall camp's opening the first week of August. As always, thank you for your interest in Skyline Sports.

Hey Colter, good stuff.

Just curious -- Are there any 'open to the public' events at the Big Sky Kickoff or is it just a media thing? My wife works in Park City and we're finding ourselves hanging out there more and more (great, great restaurants and High West Distillery). Thought it might be fun to drop in on something.

Also, I'd pay $100 to dunk AlphaJizz1 -- is that a possibility? And I hope they're reinforcing the seat strength of the dunk tank if Flynn and Darkalicious will be sitting on it.

These episodes have been released in opposite order of the longest tenured coaches in the Big Sky. Bob Stitt will be tomorrow followed by Southern Utah's DeMario Warren and Montana State's Jeff Choate, the only two first-year coaches in the league, to complete the series.

These are great Colter. Thanks for posting these and for your tremendous coverage of the Big Sky. After listening to this one, I think the "speculated" divide between Stitt and Gregorak was just made pretty evident. I was wondering if Coach would ever be the one to say it directly. No more wondering.

I agree. He insinuated some pretty negative things about Gregorak. A lot of comments about how they are 'this way' now, or aren't 'that way' anymore. It'll make for some fun story lines in November! :D

One thing that stood out to me was Mike taking about Idaho joining the conference and how UND is the outlier. We all know that but I got the sense from the way Mike talked about it that they (UND) may not be in the conference in the long run. Did anyone get that sense?
