Football Gamplan's FCS All-Americans

Post by RobertCats » Thu Jun 16, 2016 3:14 pm

Emory Hunt of Football Gameplan put out an FCS Preseason All-American list in this video. Hard to predict what will happen this year in FCS with a lot of big time players graduating/transferring and some big drop down transfer as well, but I think he does a pretty good job here. He puts out the FCS Wedge radio show every Saturday during the season that is a good listen also. I think he analyzes a lot more of the teams on the East coast, but does throw some Big Sky love here and there. The show play time says "40:01" but after you skip past some commercials  it is probably more like half of that. In short summary though here is who he has as Preseason All-Americans from the Big Sky

1st Team
QB-Case Cookus Soph NAU
WR-Cooper Kupp SR EWU
All-Purpose-John Santiago Soph UND

2nd Team
FB-Joe Protheroe JR Cal Poly
DB-Xavier Coleman SR Portland St

3rd Team
WR-Emmanuel Butler JR NAU
LB-MAC BIGNELL MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY FIGHTING BOBCATS 6'1" 205 LB JUNIOR
P-Mitch Meindel JR UND

I know he's coming off a serious knee injury, but I don't see how J.P. Flynn isn't at least 3rd Team.

No Griz players? WTF? Aren't they the pre-season champs with at least five possible NFL Linebackers??? This thing has to be wrong.... LOL!

I was going to say the same thing, I know it is not widely known but if some of these Preseason lists creators/voters knew that Newell would be lining up as a FB in quite a few 2-back sets he would EASILY have been on the list as a FB, possibly 1st team.

76 wide receivers on the roster, you would think one could crack the 3rd team...

Strangely enough, that comment reminds of the team Cliff Hysell inherited.

Kidder should be one there somewhere for UM. This Em Diggy guy tends to fly by the seat of his pants. Glad he's doing something.
