Sounds about right. This is (at least for me) the hardest year to predict where the team will finish. All new coaching staff and so many changes in players. My guess is they could finish anywhere between 4th and 12th. Especially since all three of our QB's from last year are gone.

I'm not sure not having any of last years QBs makes a difference. New OC, new offense and new QB coach. Sounds like the old QBs would be in the same boat as the new QBs. I believe the skill level and abilities of the QBs is more important than if they were here last year.

O man I love pre-season polls. Probably filed it while on the john. But hey, in the bright size, the Griz are now the pre-season champs. BRAVO

Thank God we're ranked 8th, now we have a chance to compete! Don't EVER give the Cats a #1 ranking...it's kryptonite!

That was certainly true of the old cats. Really really hope that problem gets addressed with new HC

Being ranked No. 1 and not finishing No. 1 happens all the time. It isn't just MSU. It is the reason hardly anyone takes pre-season polls very seriously. Of the two BSC polls I've seen, two different teams have ranked No. 1. I bet the BSC coaches and media polls have someone else (NAU?) ranked No. 1.

I think the media will have NAU no. 1. The coaches will have PSU #1. I bet MSU is in the top 5 of both BSC polls.iaafan wrote:Being ranked No. 1 and not finishing No. 1 happens all the time. MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Lindy's has no clue about MSU.....big changes. Hedge their bets and put em in the middle of the pack.....

I would rather be pre-season #7 or #8 with our new coaches, than pre-season #1 with last year's coaches.
For THIS upcoming year anyway, I am probably more excited about HOW our team plays, than I am about the W-L record
that we end up with. I am looking for enthusiasm, hard hitting, and competent coaching. As long as we out-hustle and out-fight
our competition, I will be happy, even if we end up on the short end of the score in half our games.
I just think Coach Choate will have the Cats headed in the right direction and right now we really have no idea how we will match
up talent-wise. I look for an exciting and interesting season with perhaps an upset or two thrown in. Go Cats!
