Averaged 19,172. Not bad for a 5-6 year. The Montana schools rule the neighbor FCS state's schools.

MSU/UM - 43,311
NDSU/UND - 26,815
Poly/UCD/SAC - 22,995
SDSU/USD - 21,927
ISU/Idaho - 18,921
WSU/SUU - 12,082

I guess I had thought EWU had really improved their stadium and atmosphere. I was surprised to see them at less than 10k in attendance.

Side note--I see they are considering a whole new stadium.

You're right. We are doing pretty good attendance wise. But you also have to remember that a lot of the schools that had better attendance than us on the FCS level moved up to FBS not long ago (ex. App State, GA Southern, Old Dominion. those are just most recent). So those are kind of artificial numbers.

I wonder what that means about the glorious and spectacular Gateway Project. :-k

Gateway Project would leave EWU with either keeping the track in place and adding on to an ageing existing infrastructure, or removing the track moving the existing field and spending way more than initial estimates for the Gateway project. Starting fresh leaves them with a decent track facility, a better home for their women's soccer team, and fresh start for a football stadium built in phases with expansion upon needs in mind.

Montana State had higher average attendance than 22 FBS teams in 2015.

Montana State would've ranked 11th in the MWC in attendance in 2015 and had higher attendance than Wyoming and San Jose State.
Montana State would've ranked 6th in the Sun Belt in attendance in 2015 and had higher attendance than Texas State, New Mexico State, South Alabama, Louisiana Monroe, Idaho, and Georgia State (Idaho's average attendance was 11,653).
https://twitter.com/SkylineSportsMT/status/733687419728367616 Western Montana School of Royce had higher average attendance than 44 FBS teams in 2015.

They would've ranked 6th in the MWC in attendance in 2015 and had higher attendance than New Mexico, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah State, UNLV, Wyoming, and San Jose State.
They would've led the Sun Belt in attendance in 2015.

I will bet if you looked up the attendance numbers for those tears that moved up while they were still FCS or IAA, MSU would still be in the top 5 or 6 with our current numbers. MSU is currently doing great at the FCS level and very good compared to a lot of FBS teams. It is only going to get better. Choate is the right coach to take the next step.

My cousin is a Ball State (MACtion!) alum and he was so impressed by our game day atmosphere that he sent a bunch of pics to his old school mates. Granted they've got Notre Dame and Big Ten football next door, but still... Mid major FCS ain't anything to shoot for.

Looks like we might need to expand the stadium to keep up with percentages.... :)

It took awhile, but someone saw the true meaning of these numbers. :)

Let's start the year out right. Let's fill the Kitty Dome in Moscow with blue. Bobcat's make th trip and turn it into a sea of blue. Then stick around to watch EWU kick WSU off the field. \:D/
