With the up-tempo offenses that we're seeing, we will be rotating DBs in and out....a lot, just to keep them at full strength.
With offenses like UM's, we will be in nickle....a lot.

The more quality DBs, the better.
I wonder if Choate will play more nickel against the EWUs, NAUs, ISUs, and other passing teams.

While watching the NFL draft, the experts kept talking about how players would be used in their non-base package. But they kept pointing out that NFL teams were in that package over 60% of the time. So I think any college program should be doing likewise unless playing an NDSU-type team.

That will all depend if they can stop the run. Last season:

EWU - 257 yds rushing, 7.8/carry
NAU - 252 yds rushing, 6.0/carry
ISU - 134 yds rushing, 6.1/carry

So if they can stop the run from that package then I'd bet we'll see it more.

Looking forward to reading the story on Walker. If he and Hale live up to their potential we should have a MUCH improved secondary - and in the Big Sky Conference that is significant.

His degree from CU didn't transfer? Or did he not get into grad school?

His degree didn't have the prerequisite credits, therefore he couldn't transfer into MSU's grad school.

That explains it. I was going to go into a full on rant about losing a recruit to a FCS school that offers FCOA.

Yup. This sucks. I was looking forward to seeing him in the Blue and Gold.

We still need secondary help. Anyone else out there looking to transfer?

Have about 3.5 scholarships left. Roster isn't set yet. Coaches will fill in the spots. Good luck to John.

I just took for granted that he was signed. MSU could've used him. I thought he'd be a difference maker.

Harsh? Sure. Wrong? No. Hardly played, got in trouble, didn't make a positive impact on or off the field. I think we can safely call that a scholarship that could've/should've been used elsewhere.
Absolutely true. If his name wasn't a sponsor for the fourth quarter, he'd a been cut. The team resented him for what he got away with.

Kumbaya ball. Should have moved him to safety. If he couldn't/wouldn't contribute adios no hard feelings.

Walker said he ran out of patience at Montana State, where his grad school contact was out of the country and difficult to communicate with.

“It was starting be too much,” Walker said of the process at Montana State. “I needed to know where I’m going. Guys were heading to join their teams already, and I was still at home.”

Wow. If this is true, somebody in the admissions office should be looking for a new job. At a minimum, somebody should have been handling this case if the person responsible was traveling.

I don't think this an admissions decision, I think it's an academic advisor/dean decision. Graduate admission is a totally different ballgame than undergrad

I'd guess that he still would have been in contact with coaches. If they mutually couldn't get it figured out then it probably was best he moved on and good luck at UND.
