I am a little nervous that we are not recruiting Texas as hard as we have in the past. I know the competition for recruits in Texas is crazy, but I'm not sure we should back off that area. On the flipside I do like the areas that we are going into. The kids in Washington, Oregon, Idaho Minnesota would fit into our climate/culture better. It's going to be interesting and exciting in time to see how this plays out.

I think he would advocate very strongly to attend here. I would think we are one, if not the top school for Mikey Greibel.

Great!!!

I hope all the players who graduated will have good memories and would recommend the program.

After last year just hard to believe.

Mitch has been pretty outspoken about his memories at MSU and the future of the program. Nothing but positives.

People are talking as if Greibel would have something bad to say about MSU. I'm not sure why he would feel that way. He got a degree and plenty of playing time. Wasn't he a captain?

https://twitter.com/EDOslund/status/738021635152695297 Read the article. This is what kids think about now with recruiting. I like the way he thinks. You have to hedge your future!

Minnesota kids seem to really like Bozeman. I can see MSU moving up his list once he makes a visit

Wasn't he one of the players on the coaching search committee...or was it the AD search committee??

Coach search committee. He attended multiple practices this spring.

Smart approach to handling his recruitment.

I wonder if he intends to graduate HS early to get in on spring ball. Also makes me wonder if this kind of hedge planning lends itself to the VA/DP route. Not trying to be cynical, I just see more 'career planning' happening with HS athletes, which changes many dynamics between university and student-athlete. Not a negative thing, but something to adapt to.

I think he just wants a solid "safety school"...at least that's how I read it. Sure, he can say he wants to have everything done in August. But if he has a dynamite senior season, Big 10 schools (who are already interested) will come calling and if he gets offered by lets say Minnesota, I find it hard to believe he will stick with his commitment to USD, SDSU, MSU, or NDSU (maybe NDSU  ).

Recruiting is such a funny delicate dance. Both sides can say they are 100% committed but up until signing day, either side can back out of the deal. It's a tough deal on 18-year-old kids, just as it's a tough deal on coaches who need to bring in talent so they can keep their jobs to feed their families. The stakes are high for everyone with lots of emotion involved.
