Not looking good for him. Two of the top 10 TEs are still available and not a lot of teams looking for a TE.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I'm Surprised at the TE's already taken, he was a Top 5 TE IMO.

He was Mike Mayocks #5 rated TE . . . I still think he has a good chance of being drafted.

Sandland goes to Carolina!

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Would have liked to see the Steelers take him, but he got drafted by a team I don't hate, so I won't complain. Go Beau!

Great place to play football. Carolina will be tough to beat in 2016. Sandland landed in a great place. Says he patterns his game after Greg Olsen, which is a nice coincidence.

Two veteran pass-catching TEs in Greg Olsen and Ed Dickson means Beau gets time to develop. I'd be shocked if he doesn't at least stick on their practice squad.

I don't see why he would only be on the practice squad. Most teams carry 3 TEs and 6-7 WRs. Green bay had 5 TEs on the roster in 2011. Beau is the kind of guy that can split out wide too. Olsen does it on occasion so due to that I would say he has a good shot to be their 3rd TE with the ability to move around a bit.

That's not a guaranteed contract. He probably got a smallish signing bonus to make ends meet and won't see another dime of the $2.4 million unless he makes the active 53-man roster. Even if they keep him on the practice squad it's only a fraction of what a member of the 53-man roster will make. I do think he'll stick on the 53 though, especially if he can prove to be a decent special team player.

Based on the rookie wage scale and other 7th round contract breakdowns I have seen I would guess this is about a $600,000/year 4 year deal with a signing bonus between 200 and 300K.
