We are indeed recruiting him but expect more bidding wars for Montana kids this year as the Grizzlies now have their full scholarship load back.
Agree. In your opinion, now much does the fact that the Griz had a late season collapse, including getting beat by us in their own house... sway a kid's decision?

2-3%....maybe. A good portion of Montana kids are already fans of either team regardless of who wins that game. My opinion is that the win/loss record is overrated.

Keaton won Eastern AA Conference Defensive MVP this year. 1st Team All-Conference Safety and 2nd Team Wide Receiver. Adds on 10-20 pounds of muscle and this kid will be special.

So the All-State list for AA is officially out. Basically just waiting on the Gatorade Player of the Year now. I expect it to be Nate Dick or Gabe Sulser.

AA Offensive MVP: Nate Dick (Billings Senior) - QB
AA Defensive MVP: Keaton Anderson (Billings Senior) - FS

I think it should be Troy Anderson of Dillon for GPOY, but it usually goes to a AA player. For all the state titles they've won, it's odd that Dillon has never had a player win it. Here's the list of past winners:
1986 Donahue - West
1987 Collins - Bozeman
1988 Tuss - Capital
1989 Mason - Bigfork
1990 Dickenson - CMR
1991 Dickenson - CMR
1992 Cummings - Stevensville
1993 Crebo - Capital
1994 Lannings - Havre
1995 Ueland - West
1996 Drinkwalter - CMR
1997 Petek - Helena
1998 Edwards - West
1999 Ryan - West
2000 Bartik - West
2001 Anderson - Lewistown
2002 Grosulak - West
2003 Samson - Capital
2004 Schulte - Great Falls
2005 Lebsock - Skyview
2006 Verlanic - Drummond
2007 Hustad - Helena
2008 McMillan - Billings Central
2009 Osweiler - Flathead
2010 Miller - Capital
2011 Roderick - Bozeman
2012 Kidder - Capital
2013 Brekke - Capital
2014 Dissly - Bozeman
2015 Grinde - CMR
2016 Chapman - Bozeman
2017 ???

25 of 31 have been from AA schools. Capital has the most with 6, followed by West with 5, CMR and Bozeman with 4.

Balue Chapman is the 2016 winner. The announced player will be the 2017 GPOY.

Grosulak went to west, he ran at Carrol College. Somme may remeber he was involved in a gun incident in billings about two years ago. Some guy was harassing his girlfriend on the road so he tracked the guy down and the guy pulled a gun on him. I also believe he tried body building after college.

Probably a different guy. Alexi Grosulak was Billings Central, he played for the Cats 2010-2012ish. I think injuries shortened his career but he was a stud.

Yup, here is the article. He was replaced by some guy named Singleton. Don't know what ever became of him. :D

Ryan Grosulak of Billings West won it in 2002. He was a RB/LB.

Vim, I saw on the Griz board where Thompson Falls Mackenzie Holt had a big year. He sounds huge and fast and averaged 11.3 yards per carry. Will he be moving up your rankings from his 31 spot.

If you've really read the board, you'll already know my opinion on him.

All I remember is your saying something along the lines of him being an interesting recruit, a potential high upside due to his size and speed, and that you wanted to see how his senior year went. Am I off? Looks like his senior year went very well and he put up huge numbers and was all state. Hence the reason I asked if he'd be moving up in your opinion.

He will move into the 30-20 range. A lot the same his senior year: explosive plays and lazy plays.

Gotcha thanks for the feedback. I respect your thoughts and opinions on these kids. You definitely do a lot of research.

https://twitter.com/c_oreilly7/status/806532132319338496 Callahan is 6'3", 205 lbs. and will either play QB or OLB. A sneaky good prospect at QB even though there will be a ton of competition at the position at MSU. Callahan started one year at QB for Bozeman this year and put up ridiculous numbers:

Passing: 208/327 (63.6%) for 3,178 yards and 26 TD to 5 INT passing
Rushing: 104 carries for 379 yards and 13 TDs

2016 Class AA All-State Second Team - QB
2016 Eastern AA First Team - QB
