https://twitter.com/CoachKyleSamson/status/808742922845900802 Bridger Johnson (Kalispell Flathead) - QB - 6'3", 190 lbs. - HM All-State QB in 2015 and 2016

Missed this one a few weeks ago but Bridger is an underrated QB recruit out of Montana. Was not on a very good Flathead team the last few years but definitely made them better as their QB. Bridger has good size and throws an accurate ball. Reminds me a lot of Philips Rivers. Anyway, MT Tech gets another good in-state prospect that received interest from UM and MSU likely as a PWO or fall camp invite.
https://twitter.com/406mtsports/status/811803560270852096 Ryan Arntson (Helena High) - RB - 5'7", 170 lbs. - AA All-State 1st Team RB in 2016

Many argued that Ryan deserved Gatorade Player of the Year over Nathan Dick in 2016. Ryan rewrote Helena High's rushing record books and was an absolute workhorse all season. Don't let his size fool you...he was one of the more physical runners in the state this year. He will be joining his brother Troy at Carroll.

He looks like a giant compared to Samson.

For those who want to watch how good the Ennis Mustangs were this year in 8-Man.

Senior players to pay attention to are:

77 - Ty Morgan (OL/DL) - He is raw but runs really well, plays with max effort, and dominates the line of scrimmage. His best games were his last two against Wibaux and Charlo where he basically won them the title on the final play in OT. He is about 6'5", 230 lbs. and if you were creating a player to play DE, he looks the part. I hope the Bobcats land him as a PWO because there is so much to develop there. Ty will get to showcase his talent for the West in the Shrine Game this summer. He has a lot of plays on here where you have this reaction after: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/or ... d2e08d.gif.

23 - Jake Knack (RB/LB) - There is a Chad Newell-type RB every year in Montana. A kid who might not be the fastest but plays with max effort, runs the ball hard, and has good size. Jake is that RB out of Montana this year. He is about 6'1", 195 lbs. and he looks for contact. He also has good hands and excels in the screen game. And it isn't like he is slow. Ran a 11.6 100M dash last year at the Western C Divisional. Jake was a snub on the Shrine Game roster in my opinion.

11 - Gavin McKitrick (WR/LB) - I like WR's who play LB on defense. It makes them better wide receivers in my opinion and Gavin's highlight is littered with big hits and nice catches. Gavin is about 5'11", 185 lbs. and was a stalwart on the Mustangs offense/defense. Will likely be a Frontier player.

Junior players to pay attention to are:

1 - Tanner Wood (QB/LB) - Tanner threw 28 TDs to 2 INTs his junior season and also ran for 14 touchdowns. Tanner is also a really good track athlete who goes 20+ in the long jump and 11.5 in the 100M dash. Will be a college prospect in 2018.

5 - Corbin Wood (WR/LB) - Corbin is Tanner's twin brother and he played RB/WR on offense along with safety and linebacker on defense. Had 13 total touchdowns in 2016 and goes 21+ in the long jump, 11.5 in the 100M dash, and 6'0" in the high jump. Will also be a college prospect in 2018.

Kendall is one of the top linebackers in the state and likely has walk-on offers or interest from UM and/or MSU. But this is quite an achievement for an 18-year old.

Thought he would likely start out at OLB for the Cats but has plenty of ability to develop at WR. For some proof, go to about :35 in his junior highlight film and watch some receiver skills:

Speaking of that, last night I watched Troy Anderson from Dillon play basektball against Capital. He definitely looks the part. Big, strong, fluid athlete.

Based off Twitter and the fact he wasn't at any Baker games this weekend (or at UM or MSU), looks like Luke visited Texas Tech. If he has a real walk-on opportunity there, would be a pretty intriguing offer. As of right now, I don't think anything has changed with his offers from UM or MSU meaning there is no scholarship money involved. Will be interesting to see if he visits UND in these final two weeks. If UM or MSU are able to get him as a PWO, the value would be through the roof. As for the other player in my top 15, Ryan Davis still is likely leaning MSU but he has gotten some late recruiting interest from NDSU as a TE/FB. Ryan was an All-State MLB but he is good overall athlete. He showed good skill blocking for RB Drew Keierleber and catching passes in Skyview's run-heavy attack. In the right offense, he would be a play-action weapon as a TE/FB. If we were to get Ryan to walk-on, value would be through the roof once again.

This is so awesome. What a year for Luke because at this point last year, his life was about to change forever. In my opinion, Luke is the #1 QB recruit in this entire class and he has all the tools to excel at the position. Congrats kid!

https://twitter.com/SkylineSportsMT/status/821937328247754752 Ryan is legacy Bobcat as his oldest brother Leo was an All-Big Sky offensive lineman during the McGhee years. Ryan has excellent size at 6'2", 220 lbs. and he could develop as a TE, MLB, OLB, or DE. Two-time All-State MLB for Billings Skyview (1st Team as a senior and 2nd Team as a junior). Also a stud rodeo athlete. In my opinion, he is the best tackler in this class. Doesn't have the speed as some of the top guys but definitely wraps up well, gets his head on the correct side, drives his legs, and doesn't give up ground when laying a hit. If he is a PWO, this is excellent value so good on Choate & Co. Welcome aboard Ryan!

If some of you are waiting on my Shrine Game Roster breakdown, don't hold your breath as I'm waiting for signing day to be over with so I know where most of them are going for college. I thought that was something missing last year.

Also, I have already compiled a Top 25 list of 2018 Montana Recruits that will be released the week after signing day.

What event does he rodeo?

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Hunter Mycke from Conrad committed to Carrol. VIM had him in his preseason top 40, not sure where he ended up.

He's a good football player. Will be in the Top 100 when its finished. Hunter is a great kid, state-champ wrestler, and a stout football player. But his two positions are running back and linebacker and he just doesn't quite have the speed to make it at the FCS level. Will be great at Carroll. Congrats to Hunter!
