Best Transfer
Taking about transfers that didn't pan out for Ash, made me wonder which transfer had the biggest impact for Ash? While I'm at it, how about Kramer?
Kramer - Jefferson
Ash - Akpla
Kramer - Jefferson
Ash - Akpla

Elvis Akpla was a great addition to the Bobcat way.

Re: Best Transfer
One single, best transfer? Have to go with the OP's choices of Akpla and Jefferson.
Good transfers that contributed significanty? There's several I can think of immediately for Ash, but for one anyway I don't know he was good for the team: Jason D'Alba, Trey Robinson, Cody Kempt, Anthony Knight (that's the one - didn't work out until his eligibility expired, but I don't think anyone can dispute he was a huge contributor his 1+ seasons. Even with the troubles, I wouldn't consider him a bust.)

Kramers was Joey Thomas. That is not even close to debatable.
Ash- gotta be akpla

Re: Best Transfer
Sandland had a pretty huge impact as well. The nod probably goes to Akpla because of playing multiple years but Sandland was a force this season.

Re: Best Transfer
I'd call it a toss-up between Joey Thomas and Junior Adams for Kramer's tenure. Jefferson was a not-too-distant third.
Akpla was easily the best for Ash, I'd say Trey Robinson was second and D'Alba maybe third? Ash didn't have very good success with transfers, not that Kramer did either but his successes were pretty awesome. Tough business, for sure.

Thank you. I knew I was missing someone when I said Joey Thomas. It was bugging me. Junior was it.

Re: Best Transfer
Junior Adams is one of the best WR ever for the Bobcats... Joey Thomas was one of the best CB ever for the Big Sky.
I wish we had Sandland for more than 1 year, guy is a beast..... hope he gets a shot in the NFL.

Wasn't Minter an U of Arizona Transfer or am I confused with another big DT we had a few years back that was also very good?

Who was the big DT that was very good that we got from U of A? he had an injured knee at the end of his career. He was certainly one of the best transfers I've seen. Also Philip Bobo??? from Washington State was a very good player.mslacatfan wrote:Minter came out of highschoolseataccat wrote:Wasn't Minter an U of Arizona Transfer or am I confused with another big DT we had a few years back that was also very good?

Re: Best Transfer
Purely in terms of impact to the program, I've got to go with Junior Adams. In the unlikely case anyone has forgotten what he did:

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.
