Jayson Lienwand is in the next 10 on my personal list with guys like Michael Banna (a big H-back from Missoula Big Sky), Paul Campbell (WR from Butte), and Trace Bradshaw (DL from Bozeman). Jayson is in the top 10 of linebacker recruits. A ton of good lbs out of Montana this year. O'Reilly, Jobman, LeTexier, Leinwand, etc. all have interest from FBS schools. One thing to watch for in the coming years is Wyoming. I think they are finally starting to figure out that Montana has plenty of Division 1 talent and the offers will start coming.

There are a lot of places I'd like to live. Four to five years in Laramie, is not one of them.

Those of us old enough to remember the 67, 68 & 69 Cowboys will forever and always appreciate this school and the San Jose State teams...expecially the 69 Cowboy team and the 68 Olympics. Mitch Donahue went there and had a stellar career.

I kind of like Laramie and actually prefer it to northwest Montana...but that's possibly the northeast Montana roots????

No idea how they sell Laramie to recruits. The school is pretty nice I suppose.

I like Laramie as well. Small college town dominated by the university and university lifestyle. Also close to Fort Collins and Boulder so big city stuff only 45 miles away. Close by skiing and great mountains for fishing and hiking in the medicine bows just outside of town

Yeah, there's so much more to do there and you're correct on the fishing. Although I personally don't care for Denver as far as what a larger town has to offer, it's a very short drive. Anyway, hope this thread doesn't get off track discussing personal likes and dislikes. I much prefer it to anything in and around Kalispell but as I stated, I'm from eastern Montana and was raised in the Gallatin Valley.

It isn't a perfect list guys but there was a method to the madness. 5 observations from the top 50:

- the top 9 are all blue chippers in my book.
- linebackers, wide receivers, and defensive ends dominate this crop of kids. Very deep at all three positions.
- not very many elite offensive line prosepects, but based off the tape, these kids like to finish their opponent with authority.
- only three QBs in the top 50 (May, Warp, Thennis). They all have a legit shot at Division 1 in my opinion.
- a few true fullbacks in this group (Michael Banna and Alex Draper) but I believe they can both make it in an H-back role like Chad Newell.

Surprised to see so many kids from smaller schools on this list. By my count, only 18 of the 50 are from AA.

I threw in the class c kids because a few of them have enormous potential if they were to get on a college training program. And you also see that the list is mostly composed of A and B kids. Really good athletes coming out of Class A and B this year.

Oops, Mahlum is AA. So 25 AA.

I didn't count Sheridan, but he went to school in Bozeman and Missoula before graduating in Colorado.

I think you guys are comparing two different lists.

One has current players on roster, one is counting top 50 recruits.

Yup but my list is on 2016 Montana recruits. That is what I thought you were listing in your original comment.

I didn't count Sheridan, but he went to school in Bozeman and Missoula before graduating in Colorado.
Yup but my list is on 2016 Montana recruits. That is what I thought you were listing in your original comment.
I was responding to both you and JohnK. He said you only have 18 AA out 50 on your list, so I checked the roster and we have 25 AA out of 47 in state players, which would lead one to think that perhaps your list is skewed a bit toward A, B, and C players. But maybe this is just one of those years.
