Transfers..?
Heard from a good source that we landed 2 transfers today . . . on a Guard from Wyoming, the other a CB from Cal Poly. Courtland Fort and Sam Hardy were their names.

Re: Transfers..?
Interesting. The CP transfer would have to sit out a year. And laterally in the big sky?

Re: Transfers..?
Fort was one of the dudes charged with felony robbery last year at cal poly. Not sure how that played out legally. From a football standpoint he was kicked off the team so didn't play last year.

Re: Transfers..?
Here's what I wrote about the two on the sidelines:
Riverside CC cornerback Cortland Fort was in attendance. Fort played for Cal Poly in 2013 before his involvement in an incident that resulted in five players piling up a mound of felony charges for an incident in which the group robbed a fraternity house in search of drugs and cash. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound sophomore played at Riverside Community College last fall. He will soon face trial on nine felony charges, including conspiracy, as well as attempted residential robberies, attempted residential burglaries, and false imprisonment. Wyoming junior offensive guard Sam Hardy was in attendance as well.

Nine felony charges!! Wow, I am hoping our coaches have researched this. That seems fairly significant!!

Re: Transfers..?
Did we pay for this kid to visit? If it were a vote, I'd vote no. This was not a kid mistake.

I'm not ready to make a judgement one way or the other quite yet. I don't feel like he's probably had an opportunity to voice his side of the story in the court of law. I'll trust the coaches and go with the "wait and see" approach.

Without reading a thing about the case. I'd say hell no. Looking into it just a little. I'll trust the coaches decision.

Re: Transfers..?
I will also add that Jimmy Wilson shot and killed a man, then was arrested claiming self defense for his Aunt. The Griz welcomed him back and now he plays in the NFL. He was given a second chance and it made a huge difference in his life. I hope this kid has a really good story about that night and he is able to play. I mean, we have a very limited defensive backfield people.....we need bodies!!! Haha!
Punters are people too!!

Did this guy get charged with any felonies? If so I wouldn't think Ash would even consider a guy like this. For the past decade UM has lived under the guise of "win at all costs" and it's haunting us today. Bad decision cat fans.....bad decision.

I'm not entirely sure the fans have any say on this matterbigkid wrote:Did this guy get charged with any felonies? If so I wouldn't think Ash would even consider a guy like this. But if the coaches believe he is worth the risk I trust them . . . hope it doesn't come back and bite us

Re: Transfers..?
Chill out, dudes. No actual word has come down about either of these guys. The only real reporting is Colter's which simply stated they were at the scrimmage. Anyone can attend a scrimmage. He's also from riverside JC where Des Carter and Anthony Knight played. The only other mention is the anonymous tip. If the kid is actually going to trial, then I would think there is no chance in hell he would be part of the team unless he is acquitted. None of us knows anything about the case, so until we do, the kids is presumed to be innocent. Remember Anthony Knight was accused of something he didn't do and was kicked off his team. Ash is still saying that they will be looking for a transfer cornerback. That is future tense.

Re: Transfers..?
Nine felony charges? He better have at least 6' of height and Sun Belt level talent, or else nine felony charges is pretty hard to swallow.

Sun Belt is your bottom line?BLACKnBLUEnGOLD wrote:Nine felony charges? He better have at least 6' of height and Sun Belt level talent, or else nine felony charges is pretty hard to swallow.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.
