I wonder if another school was interested in Kane or Ash finally decided something had to change. Maybe JM will be retiring in a couple of years.

I would guess maybe it is a little of both??? Ash HAS to be getting a ton of heat for Marshal's performance.

This is good news. The question that still remains is..... How much rope is Ash giving defensive coordinators??? Hope I'm wrong but really got/get the feeling that JM was simply implementing what the boss wanted. Would really be happy if Ash would make a similar statement as he did last winter with offense.

I like and totally agree with Ash's quote. Definitely breathes new life and is a positive affect on the players and staff. I'd add the fans to that.

Disagree. If anything Ash saw the effect of giving Cramsey control of O and is now doing same on D.

I wonder how this will work ... is there a precedent for having a co-coordinator? It seems like the kind of thing that there is only room for one of on each team. Ultimately somebody needs to be the one making the call -- they can't be doing everything by consensus. This feels like Kane is the new defensive coordinator and that Marshall is that in title only (to save face) now? Am I leaping to conclusions here?

It will be interesting to see how much his responsibilities change, or whether this was just to keep him here and so they could pay him more money. Hopefully he gets more in a say of how the defense gets ran. Even better would be if Marshall just went away.
