I changed oil in my pick-up the other day and the odometer reading was 20567. It was clearly an omen.

I'm pissed to be missing this one but my boss is a slave driver. Some days I hate the boss.

P.S. I'm self employed so the boss is me.

Foul

Ever notice that everyone else's guess ends in a 7? Probably because MSU records all attendances that way.
Please excuse my ignorance as to the official records of attendance. That was the number that came to me in a dream last night.

21,777, better?
Good job
FOUL!!!!!

Official attendance announced at the game - 19,875.....huh, no 7 on the end.

I'm sure there will be two more people that came in late when the official game stats come out.

When they posted the attendance at the game I figured someone messed up. I see Colter's article says 19,377 - is that the official count?

That's what is listed on the BSC stats page.

Touché! 8)

I watched on a Slingbox which had to refresh every 3 seconds, but hey, I sat up until 12:30 to do it.

Frankly, I was a little disappointed in the attendance. It was a beautiful day, and possibly the biggest game of the entire season. I thought for sure that we'd get 20,000 at least, and probably even 21,000. Maybe some people stayed away, because they were expecting a beatdown similar to the EWU game last season.

ahh got ya.

I just assumed if they messed that part up maybe they messed the whole thing up and we had way more! :D

truthfully, I was a little surprised at the attendance too. but i'll say this. the place was loud all game which rarely happens. I'd rather have a few less people in the stands and a little smaller attendance number if the people in the stadium are loud and in the game. it was a great atmosphere.

Agreed...the atmosphere was great, and it was very loud. It's just that we topped 21,000 three times last season, and averaged almost 20,000. It looks like our only chance to hit 20,000 this year, will be next Saturday for Homecoming. Plus, the weather last Saturday was about as close to being perfect for a football game as you're ever going to get. We're not likely to have weather that nice for any of our remaining home games.

I can't imagine the 4 home games in a row helped with attendance. This game was sandwiched between gold rush and homecoming. For people traveling long distances for the games it's hard to swing it that many in a row.

Some people are a lot like slinkies....... Not really good for much, but it puts a smile on your face to watch them fall down a set of stairs.

Does anyone know what it is with the attendance ending in a 7? I know its somehow a tradition, but does anyone know the genesis of it. Did someone just believe 7 was their lucky number or something?

that's a good point.

i'll get blasted for this but I'm actually happy we're on the road for a couple weeks after this next game. 4 in a row is tough! I'm actually looking forward to a Saturday of just relaxing at home and watching on tv.

maybe even some pregame golf if the weather cooperates! =D^
