Black Hills State week thread

Post by TomCat88 » Sun Aug 31, 2014 4:07 pm

They didn't play yesterday. MSU will be their first game of the season. They won 3 of their last 4 games to finish the year in 2013. I believe those were their only three wins. The wins were by a total of eight points.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

This game has me excited in the fact that I think we will see a lot of new faces out there. Players like Nick LaSane, and Mitchell Herbert, and more of Justin Paige, and Khari Garcia.

I expect MSU to dominate them and for this game to be pretty much over by halftime.

A few things from the MSU write up:
BHSU is coached by John Reiners, who was an assistant at Chadron in 2006 when Danny Woodhead led Chadron to a win in Bozeman.

MSU's 12 straight winning seasons and 13 straight conf-game winning seasons are the most among BSC schools.

Since stadium expansion Gold Rush games average 20,087.

MSU has won all seven home openers under Ash.

Prukop's 142 yards passing in his debut is exactly the same as Kelly Bradley's in his debut vs. Fresno State in 1983.

Bolton's 25-yard run was no fluke. He had a 23-yard run on a fake punt in 2012.

It going to be a fun night, like you I can't wait to see some of the up and coming players show their stuff.

I've heard the EZ is sold out and unless I'm reading it wrong StubHub is saying there's only two tickets available, which I'm not sure I believe.

The last time BHSU played a Big Sky team was in 2012 at Idaho State a 38-5 loss.

Twenty-five BHSU players on the two-deep are sophomores or younger. Nine are either redshirt or true freshmen. MSU has 17 sophomores or younger. Nine are either redshirt or true freshmen. Sixteen BHSU starters are juniors or seniors. Nineteen MSU players are junior or seniors.
