Defensive stops

Post by 94VegasCat » Sat Aug 30, 2014 8:17 pm

There were some good things here and there, but if the offense can't sustain a drive, 7-5 will be our record.

Big Play VA will eat us alive.

Sure I'm pissed and will get hammered for being negative, but I'm not impressed with our showing today.

Right now the Offensive line as a unit is not good!

We will never see another team the caliber or ark state this year. Don't you think there was a reason we were 10 point underdogs? Let's wait until a game or two in league play before we call it a season

I would bet on EWU against ASU by 14-20 points. However, I do agree, too early to know what we have.

EWUs defense would give up 60 to ASUs offense.

Ewu offense would be 65 on asu.

I wouldn't give 20 pts but I'd certainly take EWU straight up against ASU.

ASU has waaay, way-way too much speed on defense for EWU or any FCS team in the nation. They close faster than any team I've seen MSU play against in the last 30 years.

Plus a below average QB, average DL and OL. I think EWU would beat them. This was not Alabama we played.

I thought their QB was really good. He ran well and threw it well. If his receivers didn't drop the ball they would have had 2 more TDs. How do you figure he's a below average QB?

Not sure what game you were watching. For the system they run that QB is lights out. Is he Peyton Manning? No, but Peyton Manning would look absolutely ridiculous trying to run that offense.

Gary,,,, you're talking about Wyoming, right.?I totally agree with Tom. That team was better than any FBS team we have played that I remember. EWU has a few guys with that kind of speed, but not all around like ASU.

ASU's first nine drives ended in 3 punts, 2 turnover on downs, 3 FGs and 1 TD.

The next three were all TDs that took a combined 2:39 off the clock.

MSU started seven drives inside its own 20; ASU started just one inside its 20. MSU had just two drives start outside its 35; ASU had seven.

This is what Colter said in another thread:
Walking up and down the sidelines during pre-game and early on in the 1st, there was absolutely no doubt the athleticism difference in this game. Arkansas State was, BY FAR, the most physically talented, quickest, fastest team Montana State has played in the four seasons I've covered them. It's not even close.

No freakin way EWU puts 60 points up against ASU. Nor would EWU beat them.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.
