Prukop
Dakota Prukop has been announced as the new starter today. I know there is a whole thread about the QB's, but figured I'd give him his own. Congrats to him, he earned it. Has some huge shoes to fill, but I know he can do it.

I am very happy with that decision if that is the decision. Are you sure this is official.
Congrats to Dakota. I really like his upside!!
Dakota Prukop -MSU Quarterback
Dude on my plane is wearin a Montana Grizzlie shirt. I'm pretty sure he's the reason our whole plane smells like B.O.
Kurt Davis-MSU Receiver
I needed a change for one, but for two, I HAD to go to Coach Haucks rival school.

Re: Prukop
Well if true, the coaches probably looked at the scrimmage film and realized a lot of the touch sacks on Prukop wouldn't have happened in a game.
Anyways congrats to Prukop!

Re: Prukop
I think this is is awesome news. I know this has been mentioned a bunch, but I'm sticking with my statement I made on here before Fall ball started where I said we will have the best 2nd string QB in the conference and possibly beyond. Think about it. Our Freshman 3rd string QB went 13 for 13 and led TD drives with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd stringers.CelticCat wrote:Well if true, the coaches probably looked at the scrimmage film and realized a lot of the touch sacks on Prukop wouldn't have happened in a game.

If our D is as good as what I'm hearing (And I really do think it is) and our O is doing that... this WILL be a fun year if you're a CAT fan.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

I suspect one of the QBs will transfer now, I hope not but I have a bad feeling we lose at least one of them. Congrats to Dakota, but I'm a little surprised they already announced a starter, mainly due to how close they all three have been.
If your left, you aren’t right.

Re: Prukop
Well, how close they look to our naked armchair coach eyes anyway. We don't know how the calls are, who was getting the OL to block the right guys, who was making the right reads, etc. It's not as simple as who looked the best throwing or running the ball.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote:I suspect one of the QBs will transfer now, I hope not but I have a bad feeling we lose at least one of them. I think the only one that had even a slight chance of leaving is Prukop. McQueary and Bleskin are both staying. The only way McQueary leaves is if Prukop plays lights out this year. Bleskin is going to graduate this year and is probably the starting punter.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote:I suspect one of the QBs will transfer now, I hope not but I have a bad feeling we lose at least one of them. Re: Prukop
I wouldn't be so sure on that, but I hope your right. We have so many NAIA schools in the state, Bleskin or McQueary could leave today and they would be the starter at any of the MT frontier schools, without even participating in their practices. All I'm saying is it has happened before and we have so many small schools in state, the opportunity is definitely there. Desin and Burtelson left MSU for Rocky and were starters from day one at Rocky. I hope I'm wrong and your right because we may end up needing them all.[cat_bracket] wrote:I think the only one that had even a slight chance of leaving is Prukop. Well regardless of what happens "hats off" to the coaching staff by naming the #1 QB this early.. It does give the other two a chance to move to a different school this Fall still. I was hoping we were going to wait a bit but it is the right move..

Desin didn't leave until his senior season. Bertelson left after his first year. You have to want to play NAIA ball to move. Most that do go back to their hometown or have some other reason like Sampson going to Northern to play for his dad.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote:I wouldn't be so sure on that, but I hope your right. Re: Prukop
Both of those guys were buried in the depth chart and were marginal D1 players. These guys will be competing each week and every game to get playing time and even start. They also know they are an injury or poor performance from getting their chance. They are on full scholarship so I would hope they would (not) turn that down to go to a little school. Juco for McQueary to prepare himself for another D1 is more likely, but I think he feels he should start and will want to prove it.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote:I wouldn't be so sure on that, but I hope your right. Bleskin is a senior in school. I would think he'd prefer to stay here and finish his degree. Not to mention he probably has friends and other relationships that factor in.kmax wrote:Bleskin is only a junior and Stewart is listed as the starting punter.[cat_bracket] wrote:I think the only one that had even a slight chance of leaving is Prukop. All this immediate transfer stuff is classic fan forum neurotics. I seriously doubt it in spring and I can guarantee it won't happen this fall. These guys are committed members of this team and will continue to work their asses off until they get their chance. One guy is one play away from starting and the other is two plays away from starting.

That's what I was thinking. You hear all of them talk about the "Team First" mentality, and as long as they have a chance to contribute to the common goals of this team... they aren't going anywhere. That's my opinion anyway, but I've been wrong before!Darth Yoda wrote:All this immediate transfer stuff is classic fan forum neurotics.
