He was very good a knocking the ball down at the line of scrimmage and using a swim move or just raw strength to get to the QB, also appears to have pretty good speed. . . oh and he is only a junior in those highlights.

The coaches must also be very impressed with him if they offered him already. Generally, especially with montana guys, we wait to offer them until mid season of their senior year at earliest unless they are the top players in the state. Guessing Derek will be one of the top guys next year.

Listed as 6-3 220 already.

Glad we already started the 2016 class off right =D^
Marks is a standout thrower for the Belgrade track team. He threw the javelin almost 186 feet last year as a sophomore. He's already receiving interest from Oregon for track and from Washington State for football. Cats want him as a defensive end. If he gets a Pac 12 offer, this verbal might not hold...
Keep it down, damn it. ;)

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

From the Belgrade News story:
Marks has drawn interest from the University of Missouri, Oregon as well as Stanford. But those school were more excited about his other sport, track, where he’s a standout javelin thrower.

“I’ve talked to some schools like Stanford and Oklahoma, some of those schools,” said Marks. “But I’d just rather play football. Stanford would give you a good diploma, but I just want to play football.”
I haven't written about him yet because a lot can change.

Is Ben Folsom considered part of this class? I know he went on a mission trip just not sure when he left.

Maybe I'm being an optimist, but I feel comfortable with Derek keeping his commitment.

He wants to be a hometown kid where his friends and family can watch him play
His dad played here
He loves the game of football
Montana State is his favorite team
Playing with his teammate is a plus

Like you said you never know. . .if a PAC12 or even Mountain West school calls who knows.

Jake McFetridge, a 6-7, 290-pound offensive tackle from Huntington Beach, has committed to play for the Cats. I'll have a story tomorrow.

after doing alittle research he could be a great player going under the radar. He didnt start playing football til this year..was a baseball player previously but blew out his elbow. He is huge with room to grow into his body..looks fairly lean for 295 lbs. Keep the beef coming!!

He's a 6-6 275lbs Offensive Tackle. I am guessing he is brothers with current bobcat Wilson Brott.

He looks good. Will be interesting to see how our linebacker corps shake out the next few years.

I love the Bobcats and the Miami Hurricanes an unhealthy level
