Re: Nicknames
Already existing nicknames among the team:
Cole Moore's nickname on the team is "C-Murder" because he's a silent killer.
They call No. 5 Rob "Main Man" Marshall.
No one calls Nelson James. He's Jackrabbit Nelson.
Vince DiGillianardo is "Vinnie D".
Deonte Flowers goes by "D Flow".
I have already dubbed Luke Halliburton "The Wolverine" and Odin Coe "the God of War".
Today during the slow-pitch home run derby, Blake Braun hit a freakin shot, helping his teammates dub him "Jason Giambi junior".
Chad Newell looks just like Brendan Frazier, so let's dub him "George of the Jungle".
Eryon Barnett is such a specimen, he just simply stands out among all FCS players. When the DBs break it down, he's literally a head taller than all of them. I dub him "The Predator".
It's too bad Hayden Vick retired because the Power native would certainly have gotten at least one line of ink as "The Maniac." Same with Conner Verlanic. His d-line teammates called him "The Fonz."
If freshman walk-on defensive end Eric Williamson can attain a high stature like his grandfather Don Williams, perhaps someday he could be dubbed "the General."
That's all I got for now. I'm sure I'll remember some more from practice soon.

Stop-n-Go. Get it? Gunner, like gun 'er, like gun the engine. Brekke, like brakes. Plus he has a stop and go running style.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote:Gunnar Brekke-"Fresh"HelenaCat95 wrote:Gunnar Brekke Fast

Re: Nicknames
Not quite a nickname, but everytime I picture Na'a making a play (Tackle for Loss, PBU, etc.), I picture everyone wagging their finger ala Dikembe Mutumbo and saying Na'A.
Stupid? yeah.
Bored? yup.

Re: Nicknames
Taylor Sheridan has been called "BigCat" ever since 9 year old little league.. It really fits now that he's playing for the Cats

Chad Newell is simply "Jungle"
He looks like George of the Jungle and in "Horton Hears a Who" by that great author Dr. Seuss, all the caracters live in the "Jungle of Nool".
Nool........Newell..........close enough.
I too am bored at work on a sunny Friday.
Cheers to all! GO CATS!

Re: Nicknames
"Top" Gunnar Brekke as in (Top Gun) or even "Maverick", still to this day one of my favorite movies.
"Camo" Heath Hunter
"Delivery Man" Deonte Flowers
"TNT" Alex Singleton as in BOOM goes the dynomite!
"Big John" John Weidenaar
This one is from my cheering section in Bobcat stadium. When ever Tiai Salanoa gets a good block or catches a pass we all sing:
To the tune of "My Sharona" by the Knack
"Ta,Ta,Ta,Ta,Ta,Tiai Salanoa"...............it's fun when all of us get in on it.
Yes............still bored at work
