Ash adds volunteer position

Post by Hawks86 » Fri Apr 04, 2014 8:19 pm

Rob Ash has worked with over 100 assistant coaches during his four decades as a college football head coach, but none quite like Bo Stringer.

Ash appointed Stringer as Special Assistant to the Head Coach this spring, a volunteer, off-the-field position entailing administrative and leadership duties. The traditional function of football operations director – including team travel and helping coordinate the program's community service activities – lie within Stringer's responsibilities, but he will also work directly with MSU coaches and players on issues outside of football.

"This is an experimental position and a new concept for our coaching staff," Ash said. "This position is designed to provide mentorship for our players and feedback for coaches on issues that come up regularly."

An uneventful, relaxing trip to Arkansas State alone would make this a worthwhile addition to the staff. 8-[

When I saw the title for this thread, was there anybody else who wondered if it's the DC?
