New Turf installation Pics!!

How does the lettering and pictures get put on--I assumed they did that before they laid the turf, but I guess not

Not 100% sure, but I believe they cut that in after the fact.

This link showing a FieldTurf install at the US Military Academy shows how they do it. I talked to their crew boss this morning and he said it'd take them about three weeks to complete everything.

How come its all the same color green? I thought it supposed to be alternating from dark to light shades of green (as if it was mowed). Or is this something they do later? Not to be picky, it just looks kinda funny all one color. Anybody know it I'm way off here.

I think it's an option, personally I prefer the dark green- it looks like natural grass. JMO

It's no big deal, we do have a helluva practice field this time of year. Ash said earlier we'd be okay as long as they could get on the turf at least three times to tamp it down- apparently the turf is pretty springy right after the install.

I would imagine that most of our practices will be on the practice fields and maybe some scrimmages and simulation drills might be run on the actual field. The main advantage will be in bad weather we will be able to use the stadium if needed, but I don't expect we will use it all the time.

It worked most of yesterday, but is down at least so far today- hopefully they'll get it going again.

Everytime I go into IE and change all the settings as instructed, all I get is the white page saying connection to game, then another window pops up saying unable to connect.

I got them quite awhile ago off AGS- a couple posters there did them for I think most of the FCS schools. Try a search there for 'signature banners' or something similar.

Haven't been on here in awhile...

That's a very pretty shade of green. It looks awesome in the summer. Just can't help but miss the 'real thing' a little bit though. The Field Turf is so...manufactured.

LOL...when I saw the first picture, it was all blue, and it didn't immediately occur to me that the section I was looking at was an endzone section...and my initial reaction was "sht -- are they putting in Boise State-style smurf turf??"

Thanks GL! I would agree wholeheartedly with you on the smurf turf issue. While the concept is unique, I think Boise's turf looks god-awful.

I drove by at lunch time and they had the other end zone down. I don't have a camera to take pictures though. Sorry.
It does look relly good though. I can't wait for some football. Anyone know if season tickets are sold out again?
