Just to make it appealing and drinkable to the broadest selection of Bobcat fans possible, I'd caution going with anything too dark/heavy and/or too hoppy. From a marketability perspective, strongly suggest NOT doing any sort of IPA. Those seem to be the most Problematic. Probably needs to be a medium bodied amber or a lager. That's all I'll say.
A Hazy ipa would be drinkable for a lot of people.

As a fan of both Red Ales and our Outstanding President, may I suggest “Waded Red”!

What ever beer they choose, put out a different player from the past including a bio. Jan, Bill, Sonny, Les Leninger, amongst others.

Is that word, and it's association with the school song, more well known now than it used to be? I didn't know anything about it before joining BN. I would guess casual fans wouldn't get it.

I think sticking with something including Bobcats, Gold Rush, Blue&Gold, etc is better from a marketing perspective.

A local brewery should make an official Can the Griz beer. Since we win that competition every year I'd think it would sell well, at least as a seasonal offering.

It's probably more known now since people know the fight song, but "we've got the vim, we're here to win" has been in the fight song for probably longer than any of us have been alive. Still, new fans or outsiders seeing it in a store or on a tap handle might be puzzled, so you're probably right.

This is awesome. The gris should do something similar! They could have one called "RTD" and it would be like a WhiteClaw N/A
They already do have a "Griz Lager" made by Big Sky Brewing in Missoula. MSU used to have an official beer made by Jeremiah Johnson in Great Falls (Golden Bobcat Pale Ale) but I don't believe they're producing it anymore.
I think they still are. It was pretty much the only Jeremiah Johnson that sold.
Lol. Jeremiah is a good brewery. The Mountain Man Scotch is every bit as good as Coldsmoke
I think its far superior to Coldsmoke. But, thats just me.

Yeah. Tim is a Helena native and MSU grad.

FYI Mountain Man was a holdover from when that brewery originally opened as The Front Brewing.

The original Mountain Man in the cans that had the top that the entire thing peeled off. So good.

Agreed. Might need to have one later this afternoon. A Mountain Man beer, but unfortunately not the full lid opening can....

So @catgrad05 in another thread said the phrase Blue and Cold. I think that would be a great name.
Blue and Cold cRush-able IPA
Blue and Cold (insert beer style)
