I read the article and by the end it had me wondering if Ash was spending so much time on his business that there just weren’t enough hours in the day to coach MSU effectively.
Having said that, there’s probably some truth to TO’s being luck like when a pass is tipped and floats. But I think the luck argument doesn’t stand up to scrutiny when the same teams consistently have lots of takeaways year after year.

UM is the university equivalent of Axe Body Spray and essential oils.

Most of the 'advanced analytics' folks are pretty clear that interceptions are not luck...as pointed out, the fact that some DBs are consistently better year in & year out (and some teams as well) proves that INTS are a skill that can be coached and practiced. Likewise, teams & players are pretty consistent in forcing fumbles.
Recovering fumbles is 99% luck, though.

I think if you can believe it you can achieve it. State of Mind . The harder you work
for them the Luckier you get. Now I’ll read the article and see if I can learn something .

I had a coach who liked to say "luck favors the well prepared". In my experience, he's correct.

Interesting article. I’d bet dollars to donuts if we have a plus 30 turnover ratio, some of those will be Game Changers, and we will all be Happy with our Seasons Win/Loss record .

This. You know the D knew every time Bignell was making a tackle there was a chance he was gonna strip the ball and they were ready. Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way but if you prepare for it there's a better chance you'll come up with it.catsrback76 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 22, 2018 10:47 pmYes, they are about luck...BUT, if you work hard and hustle, you can create your own luck!
