Re: Music
My 4 year old was extremely excited to hear Zombie Nation at the game today. Glad it made it back into light rotation.
He would be straight p*ssed if that lifelong tradition came to an outright end.

I'm calling shenanigans on this. Go to any big time college football game (SEC, B1G, Big XII, Pac-12, etc.); the bands are a HUGE part of pumping up the crowd. It takes a great band, and consistency to build tradition. Everything I've seen from the Spirit of the West since I left shows the band is headed in the right direction.Counter Assault wrote:No. Bands are a relic of early 1900's football. We need the real stuff, the LOUD stuff. Drum beats, hip hop and AC/DC.
You don't hear the crowd clapping and getting into it WITH THE BAND.

Agreed. As a former detractor of our band, they have come miles in recent years. They are really quite good. Keep em more involved in the game.BandCat wrote:I'm calling shenanigans on this. Re: Music
I like the music loud. But hate it when its cranked beyond sound system capability. The special video presentation is horrible. (the audio)Maybe its my ears, but it sounds like a bunch of rumbling nothing!Bay Area Cat wrote:You must love the atmosphere at arena football games (unless you are being sarcastic and I'm just not picking up on it) ... that's my main memory of attending some of those (loud music pumped in almost constantly).Counter Assault wrote:No. Bands are a relic of early 1900's football. I would love it as well. Maybe as a run upLongTimeCatFan wrote:Probably the wrong place for this, but it's music related. I think I would love to see a new highlight video set to William Tell Overature. With all the horses we've got, I'd love to see it.
