MT High School Football Rankings - Week 9

Post by VimSince03 » Mon Oct 17, 2016 9:59 am

Class AA

1. Billings Senior (8-0)
2. Billings West (7-1)
3. Kalispell Glacier (7-1)
4. Bozeman (6-2)
5. Missoula Big Sky (5-3)
6. Missoula Sentinel (4-4)
7. Helena Capital (4-4)
8. Helena High (5-3)
9. CMR (3-5)
10. Kalispell Flathead (3-5)

Billings Senior showed that they were human last Friday by being on the ropes early against CMR. The Rustlers were physical from the get-go, playing "keep away" from the Broncs with a solid run game and short passing attack. QB Lane Jensen finished the first CMR drive with a touchdown pass to James Olsen to take a 7-0 lead and that was the score after the 1st quarter. After two Logan Caffee field goals putting CMR up 13-0, Senior QB Nate Dick worked some magic and set up a 15 yard touchdown pass to Jake Orvis as time expired from a 51 yard run a play earlier. In the second half, Senior took over and shutout CMR the rest of the way, winning 30-13. Dick ended up accounting for three touchdowns. Senior will play Skyview this Friday while CMR will play for their season in Great Falls against visiting Bozeman. Billings West gutted out a 28-0 win over Missoula Sentinel last Friday. It was a defensive battle for much of the first half until Bryson Deming hit Chaz Maddock for a 37 yard score. In the third quarter, the Golden Bears got a safety out of their defense, a Caleb Nelson run, and another Deming-to-Maddock touchdown connection to take a 22-0 lead into the 4th quarter. West sealed the deal on an 80 yard touchdown pass from Bryson to Braydon Deming. Sentinel was one of the hottest offenses heading into this game but the Golden Bear defense stymied them all night, racking up four turnovers, five sacks, a safety, and zero points allowed. Missoula Sentinel QB Mitch Roberts left the game halfway through the third quarter with an ankle injury which didn't help a Sentinel comeback attempt. West will continue their push for a top four seed in the playoffs by traveling to Great Falls High this Thursday while Sentinel gets a forfeit win over Hellgate. Kalispell Glacier's offense bounced back in a big way, exploding for 34 first half points in a 55-21 route of Butte. Junior WR/S Jackson Pepe was the spark-plug for Glacier, scoring the first three touchdowns of the game on a 44 yard punt return, 10 yard pass from Gilman, and a 20 yard run. The Wolfpack finished with 521 yards of offense to Butte's 346. QB Tadan Gilman put up 328 yards of total offense while TE Patrick O'Connell had 106 yards receiving with a touchdown. Butte WR Kiley Caprara had eight catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs. Glacier will take on rival Flathead this Friday in a game where records can usually be thrown out. The Bozeman Hawks rebounded from a tough loss to Senior by beating Great Falls High, 28-11. QB Callahan O'Reilly accounted for four touchdowns (two rushing, two passing) in the win. Bozeman's defense came to play in this one as the Bison couldn't get anything going all night. The Hawks are still in the driver's seat for a top four seed as they go on the road to CMR this Friday then to Skyview on Oct. 28. Missoula Big Sky jumped out to an early 19-0 lead over Skyview en route to a 33-14 win. Big Sky QB Levi Janacaro ran in two scores and threw for another as the "Tim Tebow style" QB racked up 209 yards rushing and 63 yards passing. Big Sky is a game out of a top four seed and their road doesn't get any easier as they travel to Helena Capital this weekend and finish up against Glacier. Helena Capital took care of business against Flathead with a 30-20 victory. The Bruins were up 30-0 before Flathead started their comeback attempt. QB Carter Pappas threw for a touchdown and ran for another. Flathead really need a win to keep their playoff hopes alive but they now must win out against Glacier this week and at Missoula Sentinel in the final week. Capital will take on Big Sky this Friday and finish up at Butte. Helena High got the forfeit win over Hellgate in Week 8.

AA Player of the Week in Week 8: Missoula Big Sky QB Levi Janacaro - 272 yards of offense (209 rushing/63 passing) and three touchdowns (two rushing/one passing)

Game(s) of the Week: Glacier at Flathead (a very heated rivalry game that has been dominated by Glacier over the past five years; Flathead needs a win to keep playoff hopes alive); Missoula Big Sky at Helena Capital (this game will go a long way in determining the bottom half of the AA playoff bracket)

Class A

1. Dillon (6-1)
2. Polson (6-1)
3. Columbia Falls (6-1)
4. Sidney (7-1)
5. Billings Central (5-2)
6. Belgrade (5-2)
7. Laurel (5-2)
8. Lewistown (5-2)
9. Hamilton (5-3)
10. Havre (5-3)

Teams in the conversation: Butte Central (4-4)

Columbia Falls was the resounding favorite against Polson. The Wildcats had the big win over Dillon while Polson was routed by the Beavers earlier in the year. However, QB Tanner Wilson, WR Matt Rensvold, RB Colton Cote, and a huge interception return for a touchdown by Cameron Brown helped earn Polson a 42-27 win over Columbia Falls and the #1 seed out of the Northwestern A conference. Columbia Falls led 10-6 at halftime after a first half where both defenses played relatively well. The third quarter is where things got crazy as the teams combined for 45 points in the quarter. Polson opened the third frame with a touchdown drive capped off by a Cote 9 yard run and Wilson-to-Rensvold 2-point conversion. The Wildcats responded with a 46 yard touchdown pass from Dakota Bridwell to Sean Miller. Polson again responded as Wilson hit Matthew Rensvold for a 20 yard touchdown. After a big stop by the Pirate defense, Wilson led another touchdown drive capped off by a Wilson 7 yard run. The play of the game came on the next Columbia Falls possession as Dakota Bridwell was picked off by Polson's Cameron Brown who took it to the house for a score. This put Polson up 34-17. After Columbia Falls bounced back to get within 34-27, Wilson again hit Rensvold for a 60 yard score to seal the victory for the Pirates. Polson won this game because of Wilson's ability to keep plays alive and Columbia Falls inability to slow down Rensvold through the air. Columbia Falls defense played their worst defensive game of the season by far and Dakota Bridwell threw two costly interceptions. However, Bridwell kept C-Falls in the game as he threw for 439 yards and accounted for three touchdowns. This was the first game all season that Braxton Reiten and/or Trevor Hoerner didn't score a touchdown for the Wildcats. Columbia Falls will finish the season at home against Frenchtown while Polson will travel to Havre. A silver lining for Columbia Falls in all of this is they now will be on the opposite side of the playoff bracket from Polson, Dillon, and possibly Billings Central (who will be the #2 seed in the East if they beat Laurel this Friday). A Columbia Falls-Dillon rematch in the Class A title game is a legitimate possibility now. Speaking of Dillon, they smoked Stevensville 54-21 as Troy Andersen had himself a night. Andersen accounted for six touchdowns (three rushing/three passing) on the night. Stevenville WR Alex Gavlak caught three touchdowns for the Yellowjackets, who were down 42-7 at halftime. Dillon will travel to Butte Central for a rivalry game that will have no impact on the Beavers #1 seed as they clinched the conference with their win against Stevensville. Sidney secured the Eastern A title with a 49-8 win over Glendive. QB Dawson McGlothlin and RB Sawyer Thogerson scored three touchdowns each for Sidney, who were up 35-0 at the half. Sidney's final game will be at home against Hardin. Billings Central earned an important 42-21 win over Miles City. Rams QB Jet Campbell threw three touchdown passes while RB Evan Barthel scored two first half touchdowns in the win. The loss puts Miles City out of the playoff race as the two wildcards from the East/Central divisions will likely be Laurel/Billings Central and Havre. The win for Billings Central sets up a battle for second place in the Eastern A against Laurel. Belgrade clinched the Central A conference with a 63-14 win over Browning. RB Hayden Van Winkle rushed for four touchdowns in the rout. Belgrade plays at Livingston in the final week and will host the winner of Hamilton vs. Whitefish/Butte Central/Corvallis in the quarterfinals of the playoffs. Laurel earned a 42-0 win over Hardin to clinch a playoff berth and a chance at second place in the Eastern A this Friday against Billings Central. Laurel backup QB Jackson Pollock (starting for the injured Casey Cole) accounted for four touchdowns in the shutout. Lewistown basically guaranteed themselves second place in the Central A with a 34-21 win over Havre. Havre turned the ball over too much in the first half as the Golden Eagles jumped out to a 28-0 lead in the first half off three touchdowns from Lewistown QB Mitch Norslein and a fumble recovery in Havre's endzone. Havre got to within 28-14 but Lewistown closed the door on a Wyatt Blythe 3-yard run. Havre will still be a wildcard team in the Class A playoffs. Lewistown still has to beat Browning this weekend to secure 2nd place but that game is almost a guaranteed win (no offense to Browning who has a very young but talented team coming up). Hamilton is a team that is kind of flying under the radar as they clinched the #2 seed over Butte Central in the Southwestern A conference with a 47-29 win. This was a sloppy game as both teams combined for 10 turnovers (8 in the first half). The Broncs led 27-20 at halftime and opened up that lead right away in the third quarter as WR Ty Chouinard caught a long touchdown pass. Butte Central's Nate McGree closed the gap with a three yard scoring run midway through the third but Hamilton took over from there. The Maroons are still guaranteed a wildcard spot in the Class A playoffs despite the loss.

A Co-Players of the Week in Week 8: Dillon QB Troy Andersen - 332 yards of offense (215 passing/117 rushing) and six touchdowns (three passing/three rushing); Polson WR Matthew Rensvold - 12 catches for 255 yards and two touchdwons

Game(s) of the Week: Billings Central at Laurel (a great rivalry game as the winner will get second place in Eastern A and the loser will be a Wildcard as both teams are already guaranteed a spot in the postseason); Polson at Havre (this one won't do anything for playoff positioning (as Polson is the #1 seed in the NW conference and Havre will be one of the wildcards out of the East) but it will show Havre how good they actually are heading into the postseason); Whitefish at Hamilton (if Whitefish wins this one, they earn a playoff berth as one of the two wildcards from the West; Hamilton already has guaranteed themselves second place in the SW conference); Corvallis at Stevensville (if Whitefish loses to Hamilton, Corvallis clinches a playoff berth with a win as Corvallis will have a better overall record than Whitefish, a win over Whitefish earlier in the year, and an identical conference record)

Class B

1. Fairfield (7-0)
2. Missoula Loyola (7-0)
3. Huntley Project (7-0)
4. Baker (6-1)
5. Colstrip (7-1)
6. Shelby (6-1)
7. Eureka (7-1)
8. Bigfork (7-1)
9. Manhattan (6-1)
10. Whitehall (7-1)

Teams in the conversation: Columbus (4-3), Cut Bank (5-2), Deer Lodge (5-2), Glasgow (5-2), Malta (4-3), Ronan (4-4), Roundup (4-3), Townsend (4-3)

Fairfield's defense won the day against a high-powered Shelby passing attack as the Eagles shutout the Coyotes 19-0 and won the 1B conference title. QB Luke Batson scored the three Fairfield touchdowns on the night. It was a sloppy first half as both teams turned it over three times. Much of the same happened heading into the fourth quarter (Fairfield held a slight 7-0 edge) before the Eagles took control with two fourth quarter touchdowns by Batson. Fairfield will travel to Choteau to complete their regular season schedule while Shelby will welcome Cut Bank this Wednesday in a game that will decide 2nd place in the 1B. It looks like Fairfield will face Bigfork in the first round of the playoffs, regardless of what happens this week, while Shelby will either be the #2 seed out of 1B or the Wildcard for the North/West divisions. Missoula Loyola continued their dominance with a 46-0 crushing of St. Ignatius. Loyola was up 40-0 after the first quarter against an over-matched opponent, where four different runners scored touchdowns for the Rams. Loyola will finish the regular season against Florence and they will await their first round opponent, which will actually be one their toughest opponent of the season as Baker, Colstrip, or Whitehall all could be the Wildcard from the South depending on what happens this final week. Huntley Project shutout Lodge Grass 51-0 to clinch the 3B conference title. HP was up 44-0 heading into halftime. The Red Devils will host the Wildcard from the North/West divisions in the first round of the playoffs. That Wildcard will either be Shelby or Cut Bank the way it looks right now. Baker improved to 6-1 on the season with a 46-20 win over conference foe Shepherd. This was a tight game in the first half, as Shepherd answered 24 unanswered Baker points with 12 points of their own. But Baker shut the door in the third quarter with 22 unanswered points. The trio of QB Luke Gonsioroski, RB Angus Lund, and WR Cleet Wrzesinski was fantastic one again as they all played a part in the six Spartan touchdowns on the night. Mustang QB Cade Torgerson threw two touchdowns for Shepherd. Baker will travel to Colstrip to battle for the #2 seed out of the 3B conference. I think Baker is the better team but Colstrip upset the Spartans last year in the same scenario. The loser will be in the running for the South Wildcard slot in the playoffs, depending what happens with Whitehall. If Whitehall beats Townsend, the loser of Baker and Colstrip will be the South Wildcard. Speaking of Colstrip, they are in this position because they beat a tough Forsyth team 18-10 last Friday mostly because of two big plays from RB Clayton Courrier. He opened up the scoring with a 12 yard run then sealed the victory in the 4th quarter with a 65 yard touchdown reception. The loss ended Forsyth's chances for a playoff spot, which is tough because I believe Forsyth is one of the better teams in the state. That is how good the 3B is. Another big conference championship game happened in 25-6County as Eureka took down undefeated Bigfork 25-6. Bigfork scored first with an Anders Epperly pass to Augie Emslie but then Eureka scored 25 unanswered to guarantee that Bigfork wouldn't win the 7B conference for the first time in seven years (quite a streak). Bigfork's starting QB did go down but Eureka's front eventually overpowered Bigforks. Lion QB Garrett Graves got Eureka on the board with a 67 yard touchdown pass before halftime then RB's Cannan Smith and Matt Anderson combine for three touchdowns in the second half for the victory. This was the final game for both of these teams as Eureka will be the #1 seed in the 7B and await the loser of the Glasgow/Malta matchup while Bigfork will take on Fairfield in first round. Manhattan took down a tough Townsend team and kept their 5B title hopes in their control with a 34-22 win. Whitehall beat Libby 59-7 as Braden Larsen accounted for six touchdowns (5 passing/1 rushing) in the first half. If Manhattan beats Jefferson this Friday, they will be the 5B champs. If Manhattan loses and Whitehall beats Townsend, Whitehall has a chance at the 5B title and guarantees themselves at least the #2 seed in the 5B.

B Player of the Week in Week 8: Whitehall QB Braden Larsen - 6 total touchdowns (5 passing/1 rushing) all in the first half

Game(s) of the Week: Baker at Colstrip (the winner will be the #2 seed out of 3B while the loser will be in the running for the Wildcard from the South divisions); Jefferson at Manhattan (a lot at stake for Manhattan as they control their own destiny to the 5B title); Townsend at Whitehall (Whitehall needs a win to guarantee themselves a playoff spot but Townsend has a shot at a spot with a win as well); Anaconda at Deer Lodge (Deer Lodge needs a win to guarantee themselves a #2 seed in the 6B conference)

Class C (8-man)

1. Ennis (8-0)
2. Wibaux (7-0)
3. Belt (8-0)
4. Fairview (6-1)
5. Charlo (7-1)
6. DGS (7-1)
7. Cascade (7-1)
8. Arlee (5-2)
9. Victor (5-2)
10. Great Falls Central (6-2)

Teams in the conversation: Circle (5-3), Chester-Joplin-Inverness (5-3), Harlowton (6-2), Park City (5-3), Scobey (5-3), Twin Bridges (4-3)

In our weekly game of "how many points did Ennis score," the winning number was 82 as they beat Gardiner 82-6 last Saturday. They were up 60-0 at halftime in this one as RB Jake Knack, RB Corbin Wood, WR Austin Baum, WR Gavin McKitrick, and QB Tanner Wood all scored touchdowns. The Mustangs core starters have yet to play a full game of football this year. Just let that sink in for a second. As they are already the #1 seed, they will see how many they can score against Lone Peak this Friday and then prepare to face the Scobey Spartans in the first round of the playoffs (Scobey will be the #4 seed out of the Eastern C). Wibaux finished their regular season undefeated with a 62-6 drubbing of Culbertson-Med. Lake-Froid. Wibaux locked up the #1 seed in the Eastern C and will likely play Park City (#4 seed out of the Southern C) in the first round. If they play up to their potential, they will be a tough out. Belt rolled past Great Falls Central, 55-12, to clinch the #1 seed out of the Northern C. Belt held a 37-6 lead at halftime with RB/WR Jaren Maki, RB Troy Hennes, QB Harry Green, RB/WR Keagan Stroop, and RB Jess Bodner all scored touchdowns. Belt will play at Power-Dutton-Brady this Saturday and then await the #4 seed out of the Western C (which has yet to be decided). Fairview finished up their regular season last week and will be the #2 seed out of the Eastern C. They will face Harlowton, the #3 seed out of the Southern C, in the first round of the playoffs. Charlo, the team that has probably been the most dominant since their week 1 loss to Fairview, won big again agaisnt a good Twin Bridges team. RB/KR Jared Doty scored four total touchdowns (two rushing/two returning) for the Vikings. The win meant Charlo clinched the #1 seed out of the Western C and their game against Arlee this week will have no impact on their standing (it will for Arlee). In two weeks, Charlo will take on Chester-Joplin-Inverness, the #4 seed out of the Northern C, in the first round of the playoffs. DGS locked up the #2 seed out of the Southern C with a 38-12 win over Broadview-Lavina. Rhett Woodhall threw four touchdown passes for the Bearcats in the win. DGS will play a non-consequential game against Hobson-Moore-Judith Gap this Saturday and will play the Circle Wildcats (#3 seed from the Eastern C) in the first round of the playoffs. The Cascade Badgers clinched the #2 seed in Jay Fredrickson's first year at the helm with a 48-6 win over Chinook. Cascade will play Simms this week in a non-consequential conference game. Cascade will play the #3 seed out of the Western C (team undecided) in the first round of the playoffs in two weeks. Arlee had a bye last week and they will play Charlo this Friday in a game that could decide a lot of things in the Western C. If Arlee wins, they will either be the #2 or #3 seed, depending on what Victor does (if they win, they get the #2 seed). If they lose, it all depends on what Victor and Twin Bridges do. If Victor beats Clark Fork and Arlee loses, Victor will be the #2 seed out of the Western C. If Twin Bridges beats Plains and Arlee loses, Twin Bridges will be the #3 seed behind Victor and Arlee would fall to the #4 seed. Obviously the two losses to Victor and Twin Bridges earlier in the season hurt Arlee's tie-breaker advantages. Victor got a big win over Darby, 48-8, as QB Jesse Pearson, RB Colt Neville, or RB Jack Powell had a part in every touchdown. If Victor beats Clark Fork this Friday, they will be the #2 seed out of the Western C because they own the tiebreaker over Arlee if they finished with the same record.

C 8-man Player of the Week in Week 8: Plains QB Ryan Ovitt - 6 total touchdowns (5 rushing/1 passing)

Game(s) of the Week: Charlo at Arlee (Charlo already won the conference title but this game means a lot for Arlee in terms of where they are seeded in the playoffs)

Class C (6-man)

1. Hot Springs (8-0)
2. Bridger (8-0)
3. Westby-Grenora (7-1)
4. Valier (6-1)
5. Geraldine-Highwood (7-1)
6. White Sulphur Springs (7-1)
7. Valley Christian (6-1)
8. Jordan (4-2)
9. Richey-Lambert (6-2)
10. West Yellowstone (5-2)

Teams in the conversation: Bainville (5-2), Custer-Hysham (4-3), Grass Range-Winnett (5-3), Reed Point-Rapelje (5-3), North Star (5-3), Sunburst (4-3)

So Heart Butte's Chasen Kipp got the player of the week with a ridiculous performance against Box Elder, but Hot Springs Trevor Paro broke the MHSA football touchdown record last week with a nine touchdown performance against White Sulphur Springs. Hot Springs won 76-12 to clinch the #1 seed out of the 6-man West. Paro scored seven of Hot Springs' first eight touchdowns of the game. The Savage Heat's lowest score this year was a 51-0 win over Valier (who is the #1 seed out of the 6-man North. White Sulphur's 12 points was the most Hot Springs have given up all year in any game. They have now outscored their opponents 535-32. Bridger and Grass Range-Winnett played for the #1 seed out of the 6-man South last Saturday and it was not much of a fight as the Scouts routed the Rangers, 48-6. QB/WR Kaleb Buessing accounted for four touchdowns in the win for the Scouts. Bridger will welcome Custer-Hysham this Friday in a game Custer-Hysham has to win to keep the #4 spot in 6-man South. If CH loses, Roy-Winifred will be the #4 seed out of that conference. Westby-Grenora continued their conference dominance with a 48-28 win over Jordan. The win sets up a 6-man East title game vs. Richey-Lambert this Friday at Westby-Grenora. Whoever wins gets to be on the opposite side of the playoff bracket of Hot Springs. As far as Jordan, the loss sticks them at the #4 seed in the 6-man East as Bainville is ahead of them and is done playing for the regular season. Basically, the loss to WG means Jordan will have to play Bridger in the first round of the playoffs which is actually kind of a tough deal for Bridger because Jordan is one of the top 8 teams in 6-man. Valier secured the #1 seed out of the 6-man North conference with a 61-27 win over North Star. Valier's only loss on the season was a 51-0 defeat to #1 Hot Springs. It looks like Valier will likely be playing West Yellowstone in the first round of the playoffs as I don't see WY beating Hot Springs this weekend. Geraldine-Highwood took down Big Sandy, 57-19, to set up a battle for second place against North Star this weekend. Valley Christian took down West Yellowstone 32-22 last Friday to set up a battle for 2nd place against White Sulphur Springs this weekend. Loser of that game will likely get the #3 seed unless West Yellowstone can miraculously beat Hot Springs. Richey Lambert beat Savage 64-58 in overtime last Friday. The Fusion were up 39-20 at halftime before Savage roared back with 16 3rd quarter points to make the score 39-36 heading into the final frame. It was back and forth in the 4th and Savage even took a 58-52 lead before Richey-lambert tied it on a Seth Prevost 65-yard run (his 5th of the game). The Fusion missed the game winning extra point to force overtime and they won it in overtime on the first set of possessions. The win guaranteed them a chance at the #1 seed versus Westby-Grenora this Friday. Overall, a lot of playoff seeds up for grabs in the last week of 6-man.

C 6-man Player of the Week in Week 8: Heart Butte RB Chasen Kipp - 717 all-purpose yards (597 rushing/52 receiving/68 returning) with 11 touchdowns (8 rushing/2 receiving/1 returning)

Game of the Week: Richey-Lambert at Westby-Grenora (this one will be for all the marbles in the 6-man East conference as this one will basically be the battle for which team doesn't want to be on the same side of the bracket as Hot Springs); Grass Range-Winnett at Reed Point-Rapelje (the winner will be the #2 seed out of the 6-man South conference and loser will likely be the #3 seed); Geraldine-Highwood at North Star (winner will be the #2 seed out of the 6-man North while the loser will be the #3 or #4 seed, depending on which team loses as GH could only drop to the #3 while North Star could drop to #4); Valley Christian at White Sulphur Springs (winner will get the #2 seed out of the 6-man West while the loser will get the #3 seed)

I think there are 5 or 6 teams that could win the state title for class B. All it takes is one of them getting hot. None of them, except Loyola, have showed themselves to be unstoppable. Loyola will get tested for the first time when the playoffs start, and we will see how they react. I don't really see a run away favorite.

Yeah Loyola might get the toughest first round game out of anyone. Always crazy in Class B!

Maybe, but at this point, I would definitely put my money on Fairfield.

Vim although this is staggeringly unlikely, the SW conference in Class A is not settled yet. If Butte Central were to beat Dillon (which I don't see happening) you'd have a three way tie atop their conference standings with Dillon, Butte, & Hamilton each ending with a 3-1 conference record.

I'm unsure what the tie breaker procedure is. Yet potentially any of those three teams could be the #1 or #2 seed going into the playoffs. Granted this is about as likely as the Bobcats knocking off E. WA this weekend yet a Butte Central win would leave the final bracket seeding up in the air. Do you know what the tie breaker is? Perhaps it reverts to a point differential?

It's going to be close. Loyola and Fairfield will be on the same side of the bracket and would first meet in the semifinals with the game being played in Missoula. Here are two comparative games between Fairfield and Loyola:

Libby

Fairfield won 56-7
Loyola won 58-6

Townsend

Fairfield won 28-13
Loyola won 52-6

Head to head and then there is a point system based on margin of victory

I'm unsure what the tie breaker procedure is. Yet potentially any of those three teams could be the #1 or #2 seed going into the playoffs. Granted this is about as likely as the Bobcats knocking off E. WA this weekend yet a Butte Central win would leave the final bracket seeding up in the air. Do you know what the tie breaker is? Perhaps it reverts to a point differential?
Head to head and then there is a point system based on margin of victory
Thank you.

At present Dillon holds a 35 point margin of victory over Hamilton. Hamilton holds a 19 point margin over Butte Central. So Butte needs not only a win over Dillon to create a three way tie, but I'm guessing Butte Central would need a wide margin over them or they'll end up as the wild card team regardless? Not a promising prospect for the Maroons.

Yeah sorry about that NorthernPlains. Sometimes when I write these I just kind of assume wins when I know I shouldn't.

No apologies needed. This one is about as safe of an assumption as you can make.
Further, thanks for putting in your time and effort recapping the high school standings!

After this week, and seeding is set, you should put out your odds on each team, Vim. Or at least favorite players or some other type of your kick butt analysis.

I will have a full playoff breakdown for each Class and my predictions to win it all.

None of them, except Loyola, have showed themselves to be unstoppable. Loyola will get tested for the first time when the playoffs start, and we will see how they react. I don't really see a run away favorite.
Maybe, but at this point, I would definitely put my money on Fairfield.
Excellent choice... :)

What will the 1B look like next year? What with Choteau and Rocky Boy moving to 8-man. Shelby was also informed that they could move to 8-man but decided to stay at 11-man at least for next year. So that would leave 4 teams in 1B without realignment.
