Oregon vs. griz

Post by 91catAlum » Sat Sep 14, 2019 9:34 pm

End of the first, 14-0. Justin Herbert 10-10, 113, 2 TDs.

Also, Oregon is playing without 2 starters on the D line. We'll see how their depth is there.

21-0 at the half. Hebert 16/21 for 189 and 3 TDs.
Griz not doing terrible. They've had 2 decent drives into Duck territory but no points.

Griz with another decent drive into Duck territory, but Sneed throws a pick and Oregon drives it the other way. 28-0 with 9 minutes left in the 3rd.
Herbert 20/25, 215, 4 TDs.

Hate to admit it but the griz are looking damn tough in Eugene.

Yeah, #17 Oregon didn’t at all open up the offense, still outgained the Griz by 318 yards, Griz have 8 yards total rushing, and it means the rest of FCS should know Griz made a statement by losing by 32 and not scoring a TD. It’s hilarious.

There’s a ****** ton of Griz bias over here, as there should be. But you and a couple others darn near have Griz derangement syndrome. Losing to Oregon in their house 35-3 was respectable. They kept Herbert in the entire game save the very last series and were still goikg for it on 4th and short in the 4th quarter. Griz stopped them 4 times on 4th short throughout the game. Look at your prediction thread, 99% of you said Griz get beat by 65 or more. They lost by half that. No one is claiming the Griz are all of a sudden world beaters and national champs, just that they did a hell of a lot better than many of us thought. If you can’t recognize that I question any of your football IQ.

I don't understand why you all don't get it...griz fans should be thumping their chest on BN after a 32 point loss. C'mon!

Did I read the stats right for the griz in this game? 8 yards total rushing for the team. Let’s see that’s an amazing 2 yards a quarter.

Holding them to 35 is respectable. Scoring 3 points is nothing to brag about. It's just 3 more than ZERO. You were that close to being shut out. Now, it was Oregon so it's understandable - but why are you here bragging about it? It's like you're always here trying to get people to like the griz and don't realize where you are  Do you need friends? Poor guy!

Stayed up to watch this game hoping to see an unholy beat down. Hate to admit it but what I saw was a defense that didn’t look that much slower than Oregon and an offense that respectively moved the ball though the air.

griz will have a good year and we’ll have to play well to beat them. That being said. ESGGCG!!!

For perspective, Oregon has a pretty good QB but their offense is not up to par with past years. They don't have their top 4 receivers I believe and while serviceable, their RBs are not up to past standards. They do have a very good offensive line though. I didn't get to see the game so not sure what happened on those 4th down stops but will give the Griz credit for that. I actually thought they would lose by 32 or so but 60-28 type score. I was more surprised at Oregon's ability to shut them down on offense. Not sure if they are actually better on that side of the ball this year or what.

You’ll have to show me where I was bragging about scoring three points or anything else for that matter. Look I hate the bobcats with a passion but I’m the first to admit that if they went in to Oregon and only lost 35 to 3 and did it in a fashion exactly like the Griz just did I would be very impressed and giving the cats props for representing well. According to everyone here they were supposed to lose by 55 or more.

They’ve been getting a lot of love for defensive improvement this year. Only three games in so far but they have only given up 12 points per game which is tied with Alabama

Top two kickers were out, so Oregon opted to go for it. Good on UM to get stops though.

If past is prelude, you’d be complimenting MSU while spending most of you time also pointing out that Oregon was focused on Stanford and sat a bunch of starters to prep for that game. You’d say the QB got most of his yards in the second half after being way behind and playing against backups. And that MSU should’ve ran a play instead of kicking a FG just to keep from being shut out. So, yeah, you be giving MSU props alright!
