A place to collect posts of interest as the FCS moves from August toward its National Championship...

Maine (unranked) is leading New Hampshire (Hero Sports #7) 22-0 at halftime! First upset brewing?

I like keeping an eye on these games from other conferences. After tonight, I feel that some of them will affect us down the road. The New Hampshire loss to Maine as compared to our win over Western Illinois — big implications when playoff time comes. These early all-FCS games are huge.

UC Davis took down San Jose State 44-38. UC Davis QB threw for 446 yards with 3 TDs.
Glad the griz have them this season and not the Cats.

Portland State up 9-0 on Nevada in the 1st.

The video coverage through goviks.com with the link to Nevada is pretty good.

30-19 Nevada at half. PSU does look good in spurts. Typical Barney ball.

Nevada is blowing this game up. Still 6+ minutes left in the third quarter and Nevada has added 28 points.
58-19

I think Portland really is that bad.

Somewhere in the 3rd quarter Nevada started playing everybody. It gave the announcers a great opportunity to chat about the red shirt rule that allows for 4 games of play in a red shirt year.

A couple more losses like that will make it easy for the PSU to get rid of football.

Next week the Vikings play Oregon. Will Vegas even give spread odds?

Three years ago Barnum was the FCS coach of the year, now he's on the hot seat. 14 losses in a row and no signs being able to climb out of the hole. I doubt he'll be there next year.

Early on you could see that Portland has talent however they have no discipline or proper attitude.

This ranking was created one day before our game. Western Illinois was #6. Idaho was #33. Wagner was #86. Be interesting to see how this changes after this weekend.
