Preseason BSC MVP questionable for 2018?

Not sure when he was diagnosed with a health issue or what part of the body it pertains to, but Josh Buss sounds questionable in this quote from Hauck in 406 Sports.

"It's great. Obviously when you get a preseason award, it says you've done some really nice things on the field in the past," Montana head coach Bobby Hauck said. "Just in regard to Josh, I hope he can play. He's had some health issues. We'll see."

It’s not looking good. Very doubtful he’ll be ready early if at all. Pretty big hit to the D if he can’t go.

Sounds bad. Hope he is OK. Hate for him to miss his Sr. Year. Are the pro scouts looking at him?

He’s rated 39 at OLB. Hurt his shoulder and missed 2017 spring ball. Not sure what injury is now.

He’s rated 39 at OLB. Hurt his shoulder and missed 2017 spring ball. Not sure what injury is now.

Rumor is a torn pec muscle, from lifting of all things. Suffered some time after spring ball so not looking good. If truly torn, that’s a 9 month recovery. If not torn (which is still possible I’m hearing) it’s still 3-4 months so we won’t see him until October if lucky.

Hopefully it’s just a grade 2. Pretty common weight lifting injury and I bet gtapp knows of some people who’ve had to deal with it.

He sat out all 15 practices, instead wearing a blue “injury” jersey after having off-season shoulder surgery. The first week of July, two independent sources told Skyline Sports Buss suffered a tore pectoral muscle while lifting weights during Montana’s summer workouts.
